All countries who are members of EBU and who are above 30 paralel can perform in Eurovision, that not only covers Europe but all north african countries and even arab countries. Unfortunatelly muslim countries refused to take part because Israel is in it. In 2005 Libanon applied for eurovision and was accwpted but refused to broadcast israeli song before competition and it was break of rules and couldnt take part.

Harel Skaat is a fantastic singer - hands down. What ruined things for him in ESC last year was that 2010 was a BIG ballad year in ESC, with an unusal high number of huge "bigbelting" ballads. The fact that he was nervous and lost controle of his vocals in the end of the song ruined more for him than it otherwise would, if it hadn't been such a balladyear as it was.
