@kiddemonking airsoft scopes are alot cheaper made and of lesser quality, if you use an airsoft scope on a real gun, the scope will lose it's zero and it will maybe break.
I foresee taking this same scope and mounting to a target model Ruger 10/22. Yeah, overkill, but I think it will work. That could happen when I upgrade to a 25X scope for the Varminter.
yep back here in south texas the law said to shoot out side city limits. you need at least minimun 10 sq acres to shoot opps my bad sheriffs took my toys because they care FROM private property .. 1 ak 1 beretta 1 makarov and 1 ruger single shot revolver & over 2500 rounds.payed a lawyer 500 dls for them to return my tools.FTG
Shooting is great but the most impressive thing is the sight picture through the scope. It is tough to get it just right and you nailed it. But I wouldnt expect any less from you tennesseans :) Great job my friend.
You have alot of great follower, because they respect you as a person. Please take some time and upload some Dr.Paul and share it with us...cuzz the media try to silent him. This is our time to rise and educate our friends and family who Ron Paul is.
Hi TN9! I've been following you for some years now, and I love all your videos! This is the first time I every post a comment. Dr. Paul is rallying up all minute man!! To take a stand for the drum of Liberty for all man kind. Does not matter what race you are, we are indivisible under God. " Man is to be free and Independent" -jfk
they seem to be good way of filming you shooing but for best results mount it up side down for right hand shooter and simple flip of vid in editing will realign the vid again
You did an awesome with this video. It was almost like I was the one shooting the rifle. Hey, may be that is an idea...virtual shooting....Very impressive shooting. Your scope has great clarity and I am sure that was not an easy task shooting through the camera shooting through the scope. Awesome video!
If it was illegal here, I would have been arrested quite often since 1987, which is how long I've been shooting on this property.
Some jurisdictions in my area, Nashville TN, do not permit shooting guns on your home property. Once you get outside of the restrictive city mindset, you are typically good to go on your own property or in managed wildlife areas that allow target practice and/or hunting.
so how dark was it? Because with the camera being in night mode the whole time, there was not really any thing to gauge with for perspective.. I read that you sai, just after sunset, but that is relative. ha ha
Dark enough that I could detect a few edges and some degree of the color spectrum, but too dark to make accurate hits without the nightshot. Several targets were partially obstructed, on purpose, and those would have been nearly impossible to hit accurately.
@iixnullxii1 Maybe for 30rd mags. But if you install a bullet button or raddlock, your good to go with 10 rounders. I know its not the exactly the same but pretty darn close.
I enjoyed watching this video and I realize that it probably took a respectable amount of effort including target setup, and shooting which was only complicated even more by the darkness. However, a tannerite explosion after dark would be most impressive (like most of your shooting vids). Thanks alot for the vid. Have a nice day.
I experienced a massive brain fart as I didn't even consider doing that. Ever since I "got into Tannerite", there are usually a few canisters sitting around serving as paperweights. I've been thinking about showing a tannerite explosion during the day, through the scopecam. There IS a shot-up lawnmower reposing on the range......hmmmmm........
About 3 inches high at 200 yards compared to the standard Hornady VMAX. The Superperformance has much more velocity. I took some test shots off camera and had to move the scope a couple of clicks.
Anyone interested in a 200 yard ballistic gel test with the Superperformance ammo? I know that everyone would really hate that, but just asking....... :-)
@tnoutdoors9 any test you do seems to be a success I'd like to see a 200yard gel test :-) also have you ever done a test with colibri or super colibri rounds? Or a pellet rifle?
Call me nuts, but I have watched this video about 6 times in a row. Not a fault, just a question. I see that your trigger control is great, I think. It seems that you like to fire the round a bit low and to the right. Why? Is this to hit the heart? Just asking? Again, I really appreciate your dedication to what you do!
I was going for heart and head shots, which is something I typically had not attempted with this setup. It seemed to work. Also, the camcorder to scope alignment could be off ever so slightly. It took nearly 40 minutes to get the scope attached to the stock and lined up properly with effective eye relief, focus, etc.
I was just wondering (you've probably mentioned this in one or more of your other videos) but how far can those 5.56 caliber projectiles fly before they start to drop?
MAN! this video has a lot of feel! It is so cool that it hurts. Why can't I come up with stuff like this?
You must have had to go back there and drag all those heavy targets out and pick up the milk jug remains in total darkness. This video looks like it was very hard to make.
Thanks! Huge amount of prep, and yes, cleanup was in darkness, but I can drive to the target setup. I was well-armed in the event of a deep-woods zombie attack. The camera setup and actual shooting was a breeze compared to the editing process.
lol wow, thats an interesting coincidence that you would use interloper by Kevin MacLeod for this video. it came with a certain independent video game i got recently. O_o
Purchased in 2006 for around $500; it's an older generation Leupold. I originally had it mounted on a DPMS .308 rifle, then sold the DPMS to have funds to buy this Bushmaster. Hoping to upgrade to a 25x scope in a few months.
This was just after sunset, facing west to make matters worse. This camera setting needs ambient light for the night feature to work. It doesn't do well in complete darkness. Under a full moon in an open area you have some capabilities, but nowhere near this distance. It is in no way intended to replace a true night vision riflescope, especially when those dedicated units run around $5000.
@tnoutdoors9 I've got a $500 Gen 1 Yukon 2.5x NVRS. Works pretty great out to about 200 yards actually but you don't get the zoom lik this(and it's true nightvision.) You don't need to spend $5k for NV on your gun unless you're going to war or something, and even then chances are the gen-1 would probably give you a nice advantage so long as the other side doesn't have nightvision, in which case your ir illuminator would stand out like a beacon. Pigs and furbearers though, no chance.
Wow...that's pretty much the same as gen one military night vision equipment. I never thought to use a regular camera for night vision, but it gets the job done. Pretty awesome!
