  • I REMEMBER this promo from when I was a teenager. I wonder if any of those "GUYS" are still working at Channel 13!

  • Sounds like a similar setup at WLWC (took a tour in middle school). The news department was tiny; couldn't have been more than a half-dozen desks there. I always assumed they moved into the studio for space reasons when the new owners grew the news department. If you haven't seen the WCMH version of this format, I also have videos posted:

  • Question since I have you here: I'm sure you've seen the video with Paul Udell in the NewsCenter 13 days. WCMH had a similar format in those days ... I always guessed it was because they were short on space and had to use one of the studios as a newsroom. Was that the case with you guys?

  • Like all nostalgia, what makes the biggest impression on us is what we experience when we were young. I wish they had VCR's in those days -- what I'd give to have some old WLWC clips! Would love to have just a taste of Paul Dixon and Bob Braun ,,, Love YouTube for helping bring these memories back. TV was so primative, yet at the same time so cool in those days! I wonder why they can't do shows like those anymore?

  • Those were bad years for all the old Avco stations, never big on news. WCMH and WLWT were laggards as was NBC. I'm not in the market, but from what I see and read it looks like WTHR gets everything first these days, from HD to 16:9 field cameras. WTHR also has better talent and a classier (or maybe more modern) on-air look in my opinion. They do a great job over there, but then again it could be a grass is greener sort of thing.

  • WOW, what a turnaround since you were there ... from laggard to #1. WBNS has always been a class operation, but I guess it takes a lot of time to change viewing habits.

  • I was highly impressed with this video clip. The following clip from WTHR Television was from the 1983-1984 Era. A Solid 6!! Brilliant!!

  • "Thanks Guys" lol
