Ya so you can not use it with t-mobile then since the phone is locked. There is no way to unlock them since these phones were manufacture unlocked from SE when we purchased them. If you bought it in Japan then they are locked.

No it will work with at&t and t-mobile in the US. As long as you have a sim card it will fit into the sim card slot in the phone. Sim card are all the same size. GSM international phones will work in the USA because these phones are unlocked. any sim card will work with these phones. Just insert the sim card and you are ready to go.
