My wife bought the 2012 C200 and YES there is an issue with the steering. Its not that the steering is mus-aligned. Its because you have less space for your legs and thereby mercedes has almost centered the brakes and accelarator. When you drive you feel as if your body is aligned toward the right and legs towards the left. Took it to the local agents, they agree that there is an issue but say cannot do anything about it.
I come on here to look at the Mercedes C Class, to find Youtube have put an advert on for a FUCKING KIA!!
HELLO!!! HELLO!! You think I'm going to even consider buying a stupid Korean-made pile of shit Kia??? Wake up Youtube & Kia please. Your adverts are in the wrong place aimed at the wrong people.
i've got one, it's comfortable, refined, good on fuel and I don't know when he made this vid, but my steering is dead centre? only one prob, i cant stop driving it....i nip to the shops and end up carrying on for a few miles! Ive driven the bmw and audi...i prefer this
@ghettokhanacademy Well, I am doing it, just drove one of these...and this is coming from a BMW driver for the past 20 years: this one feels awesome, and IMHO you get more for your money. I am in my early 40´s and after having an E90, it feels to me like the perfect car for a 30-35 year old who wants to be rather sportier than luxurious. Love the E90, but this one really made me turn my head...and my loyalty, lol...
just reading the comments, it disgusts me that people buy what car seems more luxurious or has a better wifi or watever and dont buy it for the heritage and the build quality and the many hours engineers have spent working
@halflifemasta So what is upsetting you is that people are buying things that give them more for their money? Rather than spending all that money so they can drive around feeling good about the history of their car?
I bought a 2012 C 350 last week (USA version). My previous car was a 2005 BMW 325i and my wife has an BMW X3, so I'm not some Mercedes homer. I planned on testing 6 or 7 entry level luxury cars but I tested a C 350 (and 250) and it was over. The current C Class is amazing. I was sikd even before we hit the freeway. Best sound system I've ever heard, and it simply glides over the road. BMW 3 Series is great, but the steering is a bit heavy and it just doesn't feel as luxurious.
@mariobenz123 hahahahahahahahhahahahhahhahahah - I don't think you are going to impress people looking at this video, as they are obviously interested in a high-quality, luxury marque.
I would rather have the luxury of the Mercedes than the "handling" of a BMW. In my opinion, it handles perfectly. It has best of both worlds - comfort & luxury - as well as great handling.
If you really want to know what it's like to drive a badly-handling car, try an old Ford Focus. They are terrible.
I am not a BMW fan (never have been), but I have hired a C Class Merc on 3 seperate occassions in the last 12 months and I absolutely loved it. I am saving up to get one.....
@gfkeenan4 I agree with these facts. This guy always says the manual gearbox is "notchy", and he says that about the E90. I drive one and that "notchiness" is a total crap, so I think his appreciation about the W204 manual gearbox should be the same. I like this car a lot, and if everything goes well, I am willing to trade my E90 for a 2009 W204. If I had plenty of cash I would keep the BMW and get the other one, but although being a BMW fan, I love this C class A LOT. Cross fingers!
Foot operated park brakes my foot! Why don't they install electronic brakes? Unless that they would then have to compete with the luxury brands like Peugeot or Renault :p
why does it have the transmission inside...i know that is should have it a car that has rear traction or 4x4...can anyone explain me?i mean a car with front transmission what serve to have a transmission tree...in the back wheels don-t need isn't it?
@MAXXFIGO All cars with front engine and rear wheel drive need a transmission tunnel. The transmission is behind the engine and from there you have the cardan axle all the way to the differential.
@tucfinland oh...so the 6.3 AMG is rear traction?i didn't knew that i thought it was front traction...all the mercedes except the ML and GL i thought they were front traction!!!thks!!!
I'm, certainly not "very super rich" - I was in MASSIVE debt in the recession in 2009. I'm not spoiled. I work hard for my own things and don't get freebies. And I'm not an asshole.
I am saving up for one of these. Maybe people who own these cars like them, simply because they like the qualities of the cars. I also like Nissans.......
Watched this video last night bought one 6 hours ago. We got our 2011 C300 totalled. This car is by far a much better car. It has more torque, better gas mileage and it looks better on the inside and out.
I prefer a foot parking brake! With one pull of a lever i can release it! On a hand Parking one u have to pull up n to release it u have to push the middle button n release which i find a bit annoying sometimes! I guess he just meant to say since this is an expensive ass car so one might have expected something fancier like an electronic one! Either one wouldnt bother me though!
for some reason i like the c class better than 3 series, the 5 series better than the e class, the 6 series better than cl ( yes, i know there's a large price difference), and i like the s class loads better than the 7 series. i'm all mixed up haha
I'm not for one minute saying that the C-Class is a bad car just because it's got a foot operated parking brake, on the contrary, I think it's a much better car all around than the 3-Series and A4. However, most manufacturers these days, are replacing the normal hand and foot operated parking brake, with the electronic parking brake so you'd expect that Mercedes-Benz would also offer an electronic parking brake as well, and... they don't. Just saying...
i've driven mercs (all kinds GL, M, R, S, E, C, B) and have never even noticed the offset feel. Even now with it in mind i can't tell, maybe it's a UK thing? As for the foot operated parking brake, i dont think anyone uses it, there's an electronic parking gear that locks the car, the foot is just additional.
@7477238 Probably a merc thing since they seem to have done so in all of their cars (well all of the mercs this guy reviewed).
Maybe no one (apart from this guy) have pointed that out yet. I've been inside the pre face-lifted c class and I never felt "twisted" when behind the wheel.
I dont like front mask , is for coupe or more A or B class, new front lights are ok .I dont like back side, design is bad , especialy Star without black background and table who should go down, like on Golf 6 or Opel Insignia .2000 new things ( some of them are old one ,but better ) is always good thing to do.Generaly design is not a big deal , but C coupe is a beauty. Still,is a great car ,although not perfect, maybe close to perfection. Mercedes is the best !!!!!
I think 80% of his reviewed car's have slightly off set steering wheel and for the 18% he forgot to mention that point, and excuse me i haven't seen his 2% reviews to point out o_0 ^_^ .
@mrbigtime81 That's my whole point. There is nothing wrong, just the opposite of that. The Mercedes is mother of all cars when it comes to comfort. In every review hi says it's a probem. That problem is in his head. :)
The thing that kept me from buying a C Class over my 3 Series was that stupid foot operated parking brake. It's a bit too Chrysler-esque for my taste.
@JELH I've never understood why this is a problem. Clearly, its a very simply mechanical mechanism. Legs are much stronger than arms, so apply it is very easy. You cannot "forget" as this reviewer says, as your whole dash lights up red when you try to drive with it on. My friends Audi has an electronic system, but I imagine its expensive if it ever goes wrong, so why bother? Really don't understand the hate on the foot parking break.
@JELH Stop being a douchebag, Merc has all the technology in the world. If you ever driven a merc u would know how comfortable and how fast u get used to the foot operated parking brake. It was a genius idea back then, it still is now. It's just a tradition
@AndrewParkerTV then if that was the reason, "button" is even more efficient isn't it? Well anyway, I would compromise storage for handbrake, handbrake-turn you see
@veejs05 No, as that takes up space in the console also. Foot operated brakes are simple to use, are out of the way and you don't have to take the centre console apart if you need to fix them.
@AndrewParkerTV impressive, damn u really think deep. but ur right, on my dads eclass it does save much more space then on my other car with the electric parking brake :)
@AndrewParkerTV the trouble is that it irritates most of the drivers partly cause they used to old system and partly cause classic handbrake gives more feel
Mercedes have had foot operated parking brakes for a long time, and if you own a Mercedes it just an automatic reach to the right had side to release it. I would prefer this to the new automatically operated parking brakes on some cars, at least with a foot brake you get a good positive feel when engaging it.

I think the review isn't fair. I own a C-Class and have to say;
-the pedal hand brake is fine (once you get used to it)
-I have the manual and the Gear box is brilliant (maybe different for the Sport version)
-The old cabin does not feel "low rent" - My freinds with BMWs (the main rivals he talks about) all comment on how fancy the C-Class is
-Also I get 0-60 in 8 seconds with an MPG on average of 48 (diesel)- choose your C-Class engine set up well and you get the power when you need it!

The thing that kept me from buying a C Class over my 3 Series was that stupid foot operated parking brake. It's a bit too Chrysler-esque for my taste.

Foot operated parking brake... Oh dear...

@JELH like an american cars?? I do not like it.
borrachouno 9 months ago
@JELH I've never understood why this is a problem. Clearly, its a very simply mechanical mechanism. Legs are much stronger than arms, so apply it is very easy. You cannot "forget" as this reviewer says, as your whole dash lights up red when you try to drive with it on. My friends Audi has an electronic system, but I imagine its expensive if it ever goes wrong, so why bother? Really don't understand the hate on the foot parking break.
hwangeruk 9 months ago
@JELH its ok you get used to it. Auto gearbox you dont always need to use it.... Park gear locks the diff... but you have to get used to it.

@JELH I don't think it's that big a deal, then again theres not many hills, or manual transmissions from i live - Ontario

@JELH Stop being a douchebag, Merc has all the technology in the world. If you ever driven a merc u would know how comfortable and how fast u get used to the foot operated parking brake. It was a genius idea back then, it still is now. It's just a tradition

@JELH there really isn't anything wrong with a foot operated parking brake.

@JELH Foot operated parking brakes save interior space so instead of a handbrake taking up room, the space can be used for storage.
AndrewParkerTV 4 months ago
@AndrewParkerTV then if that was the reason, "button" is even more efficient isn't it? Well anyway, I would compromise storage for handbrake, handbrake-turn you see
gregnmac 4 months ago
@AndrewParkerTV but at the same time, they would of been better off using the electric parking brake. right?
veejs05 3 months ago
@veejs05 No, as that takes up space in the console also. Foot operated brakes are simple to use, are out of the way and you don't have to take the centre console apart if you need to fix them.
AndrewParkerTV 3 months ago 6
@AndrewParkerTV impressive, damn u really think deep. but ur right, on my dads eclass it does save much more space then on my other car with the electric parking brake :)
veejs05 3 months ago
@AndrewParkerTV the trouble is that it irritates most of the drivers partly cause they used to old system and partly cause classic handbrake gives more feel
TheKenjoje 1 month ago
@AndrewParkerTV can't they just get an electric handbrake?

HOW do the front headlight look awful?! I mean,... it appears to me that most people watching these videos have absolutely no taste or are blind...
derbigpr500 9 months ago
@derbigpr500 It appears that looks are subjective? And that what you think looks good, others may think looks 'awful'...
alej469 9 months ago
It looks worse then before.
I like the interior though.
nurbsenvi 9 months ago
So... how do you do the hand brake turn?! LOL! Cheers!

Mercedes have had foot operated parking brakes for a long time, and if you own a Mercedes it just an automatic reach to the right had side to release it. I would prefer this to the new automatically operated parking brakes on some cars, at least with a foot brake you get a good positive feel when engaging it.

same problems in the pre facelift model then.
