Eu adoro esse filme e sou professora da educação infantil a universidade e agradeço a homenagem a todos os professores do mundo, e me orgulho de estar incluida nela e muito obrigada!
The book, the song, the singer and the movie!!! To sir with love... Is an everlasting classic!! Ahead of its time and will prevail for ever!! It has been my guiding star and always will be!!
To Sir With Love changed my life as a kid in Maryland. We (teens) went to see it maybe 3-4 times. We were studying different cultures in Junior High School and
this triggered our brains to look outside the race box into the realm of acceptance then to love. You see it's a learning process - this thing we call life.
@ngt81 I always wondered why it was never released in the UK. Wasn't the movie shown in England? How can you release the movie without releasing the movies title theme song? Especially seeing how great in did in the States. Sometimes the B side is better then the A side. 'I am the Walrus' was the B side to 'Hello Goodbye'.
Who is going to the MLK unveiling in DC? Most people don't understand segregation. This movie shows a little of what it was like from the white perspective--and this video is great because people from other cultures can understand by reading. I am glad the plot was shown on this.
@ngt81 Yes it is British both the movie and the song but Sidney Poitier is an American and this most beautiful song ever never even reached the British charts meanwhile it reigned on the American chart at number 1 for 10 weeks. By the way on behalf of all Americans I do apologize for Glee ruining this great classic.
I will never ever tire of watching this movie . . . it is a classic and to top it all off I have only just found out that it is based on a true story from a novel by E. R. Braithwaite.
i♡it♡i Lulu Luvely montage!!! Fantastic work you've done!!! Bravo to you & all the teachers in the universe!!! I admire most of my teachers, but not all...teachers & students/pupils learn one another*^o^* My best friend from school, Michelle, is a wonderful teacher & mother and I'm so proud of her*^o^* Thank you so much for making & sharing this beautiful montage!!! I appreciate it very much*^o^* BiiiG thumbs-up with many Brilliant☆s i♡it♡i
..To Sir With Love Is DEDICATED To My 6th Grade Teacher Ms. Merdusa Orr From IS174 In BXNY...You Saved Me From What Could Have Well Been One Of The Most Traumatic Events In My Life, When She REFUSED To Let That "MONSTER" Whip Me In Front Of The Class, He Told Me He Was Going To "Whip" Me And U Ms. Orr REFUSED To Allow Him, Fearing How The Classmates Would Have Taunted Me Afterwards. Ms Orr Had Taken Our Class On A Trip - Ice Skating On A Wintry Saturday Morning And I Had The Time Of My Life...
How dissapointing that most of the younger generations cannot appreciate a classic, there is no comparison between the two. I'm 22 and this is one of my all time favourite movies!
I'm 18 years old and I consider that the mid 80's, 70's, 60's and 50's were the best decades of music. I hate when people compare today's commercial crap to what is actually REAL MUSIC.
@GeorgeHarrisonLuver Then you should love Carole King Tapestry, she is one one most prolific writers of the 20th century and never got rewarded properly cause she wasn't pretty enoungh.
I've loved this song every since I was a little girl. I never got to hear it much because it came out before my time, so every chance I got to hear it, I'd try to preserve it in my mind. Thank you youtube. Now I can hear it whenever I like and it still makes me cry for some reason. I think it's because it brings back memories of a wonderful childhood.:o)
I've always loved this song. It was recently performed by the "Glee" kids on the TV show "Glee", in which they did a great job. One of the best teachers I ever had was "Brother Charles" who was my High School English Teacher.
Dedicated to my fave teacher Mrs Holmes who taught me in primary. I still remember the days with you like they were yesterday. I know it says ''Sir'' in the lyrics but I changed them to Miss for you while I was singing. ''If you wanted the sky I would write across the sky in letters, that would soar a thousant feet high: To Miss, With love. If you wanted the moon I would try to make a start, but I would rather you let me give my heart To Miss, With love
well it is coming upon the first anniversary of my Aunts death. As I posted 11 + months ago..............this song reminds me of my dear Aunt Judy. A wonderful lady that I love and miss dearly she was like a mother to me, my sister and brother after our parents got divorced and our mom moved to florida. I can still picture her playing this song in her livingroom on her turntable. she loved this song and now so do I. what memories; thank u Aunt Judy for the love and guidance you gave us. XOXO
Wow what a trip down memory lane.....like the character Sir played by Sidney Poitier..I am from Guyana.....I remember the first time I saw this movie and remarking on the fact that he was from Guyana and laughing.....it was a nice feeling especially for the being new to the usa.....I still remember the names of my favorite teachers in Brooklyn NY....Mr. Waldman 1st grade....Thank You....Mr. Feldman 2nd grade P. S.13.....and Mr. Eisenberg 5th grade...TO YOU SIRS...WITH LOVE...I THANK YOU....xoxox
@cheronld ...for a while I too thought that he did came from Guyana for real lol! Yes it was very rare then that people actually know about Guyana without mentioning Jim Jones....I really did like that part as well ;)
I love this movie and the song. When Glee did their version for the season finale, I was all tears. It gets me every time and remindes me of the wonderful teachers I had growing up. Thanks for putting this together.
Well George, thanks a lot for dedicating the song for all the teachers,As a teacher I am I appreciate it. it's a hard work but it's nice when at least one student shows appreciation for the work this is the best prize
excellent music from a very good movie of my childhood....nowadays we don't have productions like this....this is an unforgettable piece of art to be honest....
Linda cancion y excelente pelicula, recuerdos de colegio siendo universitario y ahora en la madurez de mi vida me provoca nostalgia de aquellos tiempos.
Great movie! Great song! I love how Mr. Poitier's character was able to reach out to the troubled kids and make a difference in their lives. Thanks for sharing!
This is such a great video.........my Aunt passed away a couple of days ago . I still remember being at her house as a kid and her playing this song on her turntable , she loved it and so do I. She was a mother to my sister, brother and I after our parents got divorced and our Mom moved out of state for 6 years... My aunt Judy was a remarkable lady she was just too young to go at 62...... I love you aunt Judy, you will be missed dearly!!
I absolutely adore this movie and song. I'm not going to reveal my age, because that has absolutely nothing to do with.. well, anything.

Appleholic1 Yes, a truly great song, but it only never reached the British charts because it was never actually released as a single.
It was the B side to Lulu's 'Let's Pretend'.
