I have the Bujinkan Oniyuri and it is well worth the money. I bought mine directly from Cheness but Sword Buyers Guide had some really good deals on them. Only problem is where do I send it for sharpening after it gets dull from all my practice cutting.
but why is the price so low than? is it because it is not an entry level or a shinken? it is good stuff, and i have kaze so
i was a bit skeptical when my blade chipped 2 times. i know that the through hardened stuff is good, but how much harder can it be than a clay quenched katana? and is it worth spending 250 on the oniyuri rather than a 800 dollar powder steel blade?
well i am not the one to be asking that i only own the tenchi and i have cut some pretty hard stuff no chips in blade or nothing i would email cheness inc
it chipped because the edge is so hard...honestly i think its just because it keeps the edge super sharp it really dosent make the blade any tougher, in my opinion it makes the blade weaker because well i enjoy cutting taking down tough targets and with the kaze its either going to bend and set or it will chip. i think the kaze should only be used on traditional targets.
I agree...My kaze got pretty roughed up, but I took the chips all out, and now all I need to do is sharpen the thing. I do not have a good stone. Damn, lol.
what is better or at least the same in hardness and quality.through hardened katana 9260 spring steel or bugei swedish powdered steel katana? i really want both thats why i ask.
well i have never used Swedish powdered steel but it a carbon steel that has been powdered with a special material to make it stronger and more flexible but the carbon spring steel is way more flexable and can absorb huge amounts of damage watch the user swordsbuyersguide and look for his test on tenchi which is the one i have to and cut extreamly well beacause of the way cheness makes there blades but i know this steel can bend over 90 degrees
trust me this is nice sword i have gotten to use it oh and let me get this strait i am not this guy in the video all my cheness videos belong to cheness
