@DaxShaw, because most of those who buy music don't know quality music. The major labels have tricked them to think junk is good, not knowing it's only a way for them to make more money. When a singer is truly talented the major label is not able to wield much power over them. So they prefer to invest in disposable music, it's cheaper on their part.
