I like both portrayals of Ruby for different reasons, with Katir she was just being introduced and she had to be really ruff and tumble and edgy cause she didn't really have to watch out for Sam, dean did that so she could be more flirtty and free spirited. And with Genevives version Ruby seems more hardend by Sam's training and seriosu about killing Lilith, she also is actually in love with Sam this time and not just interested. Each portrayal is good on it's own, stop comparing them.

I didn't like it when they changed Ruby to the brunette. It seemed like her entire personality changed along with everything else. :|

Ruby kind of had to become more serious so that Sam would take his training seriously, plus I think even though she ended up being a double agent for Lilith in the end she was in love with him and wanted to be happy with him in the 'new world order' so to speak. So her character needed to change from protecting him and flirting, to falling in love with him and being his rock in the storm.

@mitsuchan325 I could understand her steadily changing to become more serious so that Sam would take his training more seriously, but now-Ruby lost ALL of then-Ruby's personality. Simple things really, like how she would joke at certain things and her fearless attitude. Half of the time, now-Ruby looks afraid and when she does actually say a joke, the sadistic tone then-Ruby had is nowhere to be found. It's disappointing and unrealistic character development.

However, I do agree with the love.

I am on Season 4 of the show and I am so mad at the new Ruby. Katie Cassidy was fierce. New Ruby lacks confidence and the edge of old Ruby. She also has no chemistry with Sam. I keep hoping new Ruby will switch bodies soon!
