What I really want to know is if it would be good for something like an international musical collaboration? Is there a means for integrating large file sharing(huge wave files.. .wav audio tracks, etc), tracking changes and assigning permissions for files as well as notes? That's what I was dreaming about in relation to Wave but most descriptions have been unclear. I imagine plugins are in the works.

hmmm if this stays as it is and there are little to no moderation whatsoever in public waves then i can see this turning into a 4chan thingy powered by Google. Can't see why someone mentally stable would risk to create a public wave. Over-hyped geeky tool, Email exists because it is very very very simple, and you still get questions of how to attach a file to an email, so don't expect Google Wave to replace Email anytime soon, it will just make another place that you have to check every now and then and waste more time.
