Do you really think your perverted fixation with others defecating on objects other than the toilet- bodies, naves, Judge's desks etc is appropraite wording for a supposedly formal broadsheet fit for a very general public consumption? Do you think its feminine?
Or is this the sort of activity that goes down on Kings Place offices thru a drug induced haze so regularly, and of which youre so used to with each other , you dont really have theory of mind that the public would find anything amiss?
Hey, if someone is called Carine Hoskins, just call her Carine Hoskins- not the "woman on the left".
Just because I failed to know the identity of the "the woman on the left" (see 'Stepping Hill Hospital Poisoner' vid / yt), doesnt mean you have to adopt the pronoun. If you know Carine Hoskins is called Carine Hoskins then call her that- simple, you see,.. its called 'a name' .
Pfeh, wtf is so bad about Marina Hyde? She comes across as an articulate, measured correspondant. Somewhat hot-headed and intolerant perhaps, but some things in life, such as self-indulgant pop stars, need not be tolerated.
Comments like "Marina Hyde needs a good dicking" seem to simply be rearrangements of some undeveloped fuckwit's desire for the sexual gratification he imagines recieving from being the 'dicker'.
All intellectual review types walk an uneasy line when they have to review stuff that is beneath them. Hari knows he will be accused of snobbery so pathetically gives Williams the benefit of doubt. His high pitched tone increases when the other guy susses him out and cuts through the bullshit to deliver a precise and concise analysis. Hari sells his values to protect himself from conceited guilt, check out Janet Street Porters absurd response to Martin Amis's attack on Jordan to see what I mean.
Johann Hari is a brilliant journalist, and so is Marina Hyde, for that matter, but I feel quietly confident their opinion on music is probably not worth listening to.
Firstly Get the title right when finishing the review. Secondly, I have to side with Johann on this one. As a long term fan I recognise Robbie's magpie nature and I like hearing the references. This may not be as polished or well read as Terry Pratchett but he does tap into the fact there are certain accepted quotations from popular culture, literature and philosophy that inform his music. Sublime is most perfect when recognised in the banal
what is the point in over intellectualising the popular? its about charisma and fun and escape. these people are very serious, and prehaps very unhappy. who is more self indulgent willaims, or that tit johaan hari? i dont like robbie williams, but this entire argument is irrelevant.
modern music is generally all pop music. all the music videos i have on my channel are pop music. you have these broad groups of music - pop music, classical music, world music and folk music(all of these terms really mean next to nothing)
to say that they are being snobbish is just incorrect theyve had what you would consider 'pop' albums on there before that reveiwers would have liked - the bearded bloke on the other hand did struggle to qualify his criticisms in my opinion
that bloke who said its the worst thing hes heard in a long time or whatever he said, doesnt look like he would be impressed by anything. if they reviewed alexandra burke he would hate that too. hes not exactly cool is he? look at him! they are all stuffy snobs on that show, why do they review a pop album when they hate all pop? just a chance for them to have a go at robbie williams based on arguments that are fictional. most singers sing about themselves and their experiences, why is that wrong
Actually he is a very important Neuroscientist and writer, and yes I am not suprised he would not like it. 'pop' is for people with no knowledge of the true diversity of music that is out there.
exactly, pop is pop. "popular". as in a lot of people enjoy it cos its not snobby. very out of place in a snobby show, they only put it on to poke fun at it. it was obvious they wouldnt be impressed with a pop album
I agree. He and that blond bimbo looked like they didn't know much bout music to begin with. So what if Robbie decided not to go all balls to the walls. He's worked his ass off for years so if he wanted to just do something a bit more from the heart then I am happy for him.
@Liddy87 call it snobbery if you like, but you know deep down you are trying to justify the fact you haven't grown up. Pop music can be amazing, but it only makes up about 0.001% of music being made in the world. Without hype and celebrity Williams would be unheard of, his music is insignificant. Go and listen to a Ligeti track and just see if you can justify Williams' place in music.
no idea why i'm watching this, but raymond tallis is bang on the mark.

Only in this pitiful times of music could any of these "stars" be called great without people falling out of their chairs gut laughing.

I could maybe take Marina Hyde seriously if she stopped looking as though somebody has just wiped a piece of used toilet paper across her top lip.

Programmes like this should be reviewing something that isn't going to be reviewed everywhere else. It shouldn't be Hello TV.
