@elDreDas if you want portability I suggest the intuos 4. THey do have a 21UX 2nd Gen and 24HD cintiq models that have the intuos 4 technology.
I know this cause I own the cintiq12WX and the intuos 4 small. plus you have to lug the converter box that comes with the cintiq as well as the power brick and cables with it.
it just depends on your taste and budget.
the cintiq models of 21 inches or more range from $2,000 to $2,500 for the 24 HD.
Lol, instead of arguing over whether it's Windows or Mac OS, just look at the laptop you dorks...It's clearly a DELL. I don't blame him for wanting a Mac. They're great.
That's not OSX but instead windoze in disguise?! Can't see the start bar myself, but it's perfectly believable, those window title bars don't look right... and also there'd be an animation maximising the window on OSX. It probably is doze!
this aint a wacom demo. and if you knew nething bout tablets you would have known all Intuous recognize angle and pen rotation. but. well ,, you just read what comes on the side of the box. GG
I personally feel it's too tight and small. You need to be zooming all the time to get the full picture of your work (if you don't own an external big monitor). I also think they made the screen too wide leaving no room for vertical drawing.
cintiq 21wx does have lag. generates a lot of heat. and is way to big to be "portable".. and if youve always worked in small format. id go for the 12w since they say it has no lag. and it looks pretty easy to handle and move around.
Not much content there in the review. You're showing off a second monitor, but no actual zoom in and view of it being used. This sounds more like a dull marketing video than a review of a really good product. Show some excitement for the Cintiq and zoom in on an artist (or amateur) actually using it.
@ciphernemo He was stating the basic reasons that person may want to get it--and pointing out--correctly I might add several things that beginning morons like me did not know--he specifically mentioned the exact things. Reviews are free and have different objectives--like I said to the other guy--add them all together surfing around and you end up with a stew of crap that is better than what you had--nothing. 10 years ago youd be plugging away at a paper manual bought for $30--or more...
@phantomvibrationsX you do realize that you're replying to a 2-year old comment that already has 15 thumbs? Hey, I'm happy you got something out of the video. :-) I know I didn't. I now own a Citiq 12WX and am very happy with it. But this review left out not only the more technical side, but the complete artist side of it.
After all, this is from DigitalCameraReview, which is probably the wrong people to be reviewing this product.
Dude I fast forwarded your video and quit because you just show it laying there; you don't do anything with it. At least during a big chunk of the video, it's just you talking and moving your hand in front of the cintiq. Next time, less is more; better to stop talking and start using it.
@hulksjedi Reviews and free help videos like this supplement--not replace each other. You bitchers are a pain in the ass. He said alot of good crap that he could only say by reading off a prepared text--his job isnt to train you to draw--thats not what he was trying to do.. He got alot of good crap across fast and concisely in my opinion.. I click on alot of different ones then blend their info together--not click on each free video and bitch about it...
NO HOTOSHOP DOES COME WITH IT ANSD SO DOES CORELL PAINTER AND I HINK ADOBE BRIDGE BUT I ROMISE U THAT U WILL NOT REGRET IT IT IS NOT JITTERY AT ALL AND VERY ACCURETE AND PRECISE IT ITS TRULY AMAZING!!get it even if ur not a pro u will love it!
can someone tell me if the cintiq 12wx comes with photoshop after buying it for $1000 or do people have to go buy photoshop for more then $200 on top of the $1000 to be able to do drawings on it?
It comes with Photoshop Elements which is a dumbed down photoshop has most of the features but not all of them. Good for beginning. Although if your using it for just drawing it also comes with Corel Painter another good program for painting or drawing.
'sharing'.. uhh same thing.. stealing! if you didn't purchase a license for the software with a unique serial number registered to you, then it is stealing.. that simple.
I used pirate bay for file sharing saving me $6.500 dolars, call it what you like. People have the freedom to do what ever they feek after they buy a product, that includes sharing it to others.
Sad thing is when you 'buy' software like Adobe Photoshop, for example you aren't buying Photoshop at all. You are buying the license, plain and simple. You are buying a license to 'use' the product and not necessarily 'own' it. That's the catcher , it's sad but it's a reality you'll have to come into terms with sooner or later. Technically if we wanted to buy and own Photoshop they should include some company stock into the package.

I've tried this. So overrated and overpriced. If you get near the edges you'd get jittering of the pointer/brush. Oh and the screen and resolution is so tiny it hurts the eyes.
There are three freaking wires coming out of it.(power, usb and video) Oh with the really small screen your hand also get in the way.If you really want to work directly like real mediaand then use real media or or use an Intuos, your hands wont get in the way and it's relatively cheap.
This is just an excuse for a peerson's inability of brain eye coordination adaptation needed in using an intuos and for Wacom selling them. BY the way the Wacom support forum has been down for WEEKS. Just before it was shut down there was a torrent of unsatisfied 12WX cintiq users posting in there. Something's really fishy is going on...
I don't think he is. When you look at the photoshop, it has a grayed out background instead of seeing the desktop. Also, the dock looks like a dock that is made for windows and the desktop icons are on the left instead of the right. I think he is just trying to make it look like a mac.
I'm sold. I have sold my ibook laptop, Apple Cinema Display 20-inch Widescreen, Wacom Intuos3 6x8 USB Graphic Tablet and older software. Mine is in the mail....
I'm about to sell my Mackie 1604VLZ Pro Desk, A Z-Custom Cymbal, a 17" Apple display, dvi to adc adapter, Krk Rokit Monitors, and a few other bits to buy myself a Wacom 12 wx...
I just thought it was coOl somebody else (you) had to sell many items to get one good item.
Best review I've seen so far. I've been most concerned about the change in my workflow as a designer and illustrator. I've officially been convinced. Its on order!

note, the guy is running OSX on Dell. And he has some invisible photoshop file with a histogram showing, and hotkeys assigned to... zoom?
And he don't touch photoshop.
That's just so wrong.

No, he's just using some programs that emulate the OS X dock. The start menu is at the top of the screen.
