I would like to hear Ron Paul say "If I am elected the States will enforce the laws of immigration & the illegal immigrants here will be deported." Until illegals are deported, given no incentives & freebies they take advantage of, not hired unless via a work visa, no families brought here, then maybe we will get a handle on this. Until then the American Worker is out of a job because of corporations that hire illegals. If you like being jobless do nothing otherwise make your voice be heard!

Ron Paul is simply an idiot on immigration. A Libertarian true believer that insists against 5,000 years of history that all the people in the world are inter changeable and everything is about "economics". Ron Paul will easily fall back in to complete open borders immigration Libertarian orthodoxy. It's ust the case that American voters are incensed over the immigration dissaster, so Ron Paul has to make comments to reasure the GOP voters that he isn't insane on immigration.

I'm a Ron Paul supporter and I thumbs down this video because he isn't tough enough on the issue and he can't make up his mind whether border security should be in the hands of civilians or the federal government. He states that border security should be a private / civilian matter but then he says that border security is a "precise responsibility of the federal government". So which is it Paul?

I work with someone who came over here as an illegal immigrant from Mexico when she was young and she said that most Mexicans come here successfully by paying people in the black market a thousand dollars to get them a passport that is either stolen or fake. Then they come here and get fake social security cards and then they are set. But she told me that the reason they want to come here is mostly because their money in Mexico doesn't go far enough. I don't think anyone has addressed that.

Actually Ron Paul has not touted deportation so much as he talks about de-incentivizing their stay, ie stop federal funding to illegals with social security benefits, tuition, schooling, medical care, welfare/food stamps, divers licenses etc.

@claton95 The question would have to be narrowed down to what hat he is wearing ie which job or seat he holds and its limitations. There jurisdiction and duties of a congressman are different than that of a president which differ from congress or citizen. Which AZ law are you referring to? The feds are supposed to handle immigration and border issues so I would have to know more to even hazard a guess.

Illegals get driver's licenses, they get bank accounts, they get social security cards, its called fraud. The sad fact is that an American who would prefer NOT to have an ss# linked to their every move cannot get the drivers license and bank account. Ironic.

I have heard Ron Paul say that he is not for the fence idea- It's somewhere on youtube, don't recall where now. But I agree that ending subsidies for Illegal immigrants is the most effective way to deal w/ the problem. Where I live Illegal immigrants get free education, free medical services, free food, & at least 6 years of free ESL classes. Illegals can even get GED's & take computer classes all at tax-payer expense.
