Catholicism holds millions in total ignorance of the fact that we receive salvation freely through faith in Jesus, but we will be judged by Christ on our obedience to ALL of His teachings and that of His Apostles and early disciples who gave us scripture. Bible study is an absolute requirement to learn what Christ requires of us for eternal life. Most Catholics have little to no biblical knowledge. Most Catholics are Christians by faith but not by discipleship which is required.

@mbaren58 as i understand it...the king james had those books within for historical purposes..etc. NOT for doctrine itself..they didnt consider them INSPIRED by God. Now since they were NOT INSPIRED by GOD..and then they found out the historical Inaccuracies...and in some.. witchcraft was shown as well...this was the straw that had these books removed. Another big part of their removal was that the original hebrew cannon did NOT include these books.

@07braves The Hebrew canon as used by Jesus and the Apostles (the Septuagint) had those books in. The Hebrew canon chosen by the Jews AFTER the death and resurrection of Jesus did not include them - the Jews cut out the books the Christians were using. If you are going to go with what the Jews decided then, then you should loose the New Testament as well, because they rejected those books then too!

Those who teach the law are destined for destruction because they believe that they can go to heaven by their own merit. @Catholicist part 2..1 peter 3:19, 20..HE (JESUS), went and preached unto the SPIRITS in prison, which sometime were disobedient to GOD..waited in the DAYS OF NOAH...etc. this tells us that the people that die without hearing of Christ will be given the chance when they are dead..but if you hear the gospel in which almost the entire world has heard today, you have NO EXCUSE , it would be better that you never heard the good news than to reject it.

@Catholicist the HOLY SPIRIT RESIDES IN ALL CHRISTIANS, not just a few select people. You have to admit, the RCC clergy has failed with alot of sins, so how is it you would take everything they say as CORRECT in doctrine, you cant have it both ways, sinful man ,yet they are the authority on the BIBLE over everyone else ?..the blind leading the blind. LET the Holy Spirit lead you, not sinful man..man can make many mistakes in doctrine, and the Holy Spirit will let you know when it is wrong.

@Catholicist are you kidding me???..the RCC has never failed in its teachings, why is it that alot of the Mary doctrines are recent and had to PASS by votes, as did the infallibilty of the popes. 1 of the mary doctrine was accepted in the 1800's, another in the 1950's..cant remember which ..sorry. @07braves Jesus is called the Shepherd of the flock, but in Acts 20:28, the apostles are called the shepherds of the flock. 2 Sam. 22:2-3, 32, 47=God is also called the Rock=but God is the rock of the Church, but this does not mean He cannot confer this distinction upon Peter as well, to facilitate the unity He desires for the Church. so my friend we do not control what Jesus gave to his disciples, but have given the gift of authority by his new convenant.
