Laern how to spell. Clinto flew his own arsenal into Iraq, or did you forget. After which, HILLARY was all over the news about Saddams nukes. The sanctions didn't kill anybody. Saddam did by using the oil-for-food program for himself.

We don't actually know what the death toll was since Saddam buried many of his own. Millions! Why? Because we left the job unfinished.

UN Sanctions limited the export of oil, killed Iraq's economy, and caused millions of death. Stop listening to all your right-wing media.

Yet Saddam was still able to build more palaces with the oil-for-food program. Saddam never allowed Un inspectors to fully inspect his palaces. Had he done that, sanctions would have been lifted. But he wouldn't. What was he afriad of? You see a small part of the story and base your analysis. That is your problem completely. Saddam killed more than your precious UN ever did.

Sanctions were about to be lifted and Saddam was planning to sell his oil in Euros, and the US and Britian couldn't have that. Plus, He was going to flood the oil market, driving the price down, OPEC couldn't have that and of course the Exxon/Mobils, Halliburtons etc. Plus US and British oil companies had big plans for IRaqi oil. They divided up the oil fields in maps before we invaded.

Then why are we paying so much now? We aren't even on the top 5 list of recipients for Iraqi oil. The people who still think this was about oil are slowly waking up to this fact. George Soros (move on liberal) is in Haliburton. Cheney was out long before Iraq. We don't get Iranian oil either.

Think about this. Most Muslims hate Isreal. WHY do we still support Isreal if it's all about oil?

He bought shares in Halliburton because he's a businessman. If he bought it in 98-99, would he have been beating the drum to war as much as Cheney? It doesn't matter which country buys the oil, It's who is profiting off of it. Halliburton is oil services and they are doing really well because of the war. The US supports Isreal because it is the only democracy in that region and we also kiss the butts of Saudi Arabia. This isn't the first time we played both sides,look at Iran/Iraq in the 80s.

This war isn't about OIL. Last year, Iraq only accounted for 6% of Halliburton's earnings. Also, Cheney hurt them financially by voting against the LOGCAP contract. Not to mention that they are being underbid by middle eastern countries.

The reason we are paying so much now is that A. The market is made volatile because of war in the Middle East and B. The World supply of oil hitting the market is reduced because the spigot on Iraqi Oil is now controlled and Iraq is producing less oil now than before the war

George Bush has selective amnesia, Rumsfeld lied about WMDs in Iraq. Scott Ritter was UN Weapons Inspector & he stated that there were no WMDs in Iraq. The Americans wanted War & would not be denied. To say Ritter backtacked would be delude yourself into believing that the GOP were innocent/unaware. The folks in White House are guilty of ethnic cleansing. Democrats, Republicans, France, Russia, and even Germany have been telling us that he had WMDs. Talking about using your memory again, whatever happened to the story about the large trucks heading toward Syria before we went back to Iraq. What was on those trucks that Saddam felt he need to get out of the country?

If killing Al Queda (not all muslims)is ethnic cleansing, then bring in the ovens.

Yet Germany, France, Russia and the Democrats all vehemently opposed the Iraq invasion from the outside, waiting for the results of UN Weapons inspectors.

The only example the Bush administration is that it will even ignore the word of UN Weapons Inpectors.

It's no longer if the US will invade, it's a matter of when. That has dangerous implications for world stability.

The US should stop trying to be the worlds police and sort it's problems at home out.

And why did Russia and France not want us to go in? I'll wait a minute. Because it turned out that Saddam promised them oil fields if they helped over turn sanctions. That is also documented.

Why should we have waited on the UN when they are a joke. Money scandals galore. Not to mention that Saddam NEVER gave weapons inspectors 100% access. Ritter used to cry about that a lot.

And US policy has nothing to do with oil? Nothing to do with giving US companies a big slice of the profits developing Iraq's oil fields?

Why have a peaceful resolution to a conflict when a war will make the US money?

the problem with that thinking is beleiving that what happens abroad isn't our problem. That is how 911 happened. You bring it to us, we bring it right back. How could you ever use the UN in your defense? Do you know anything about them?

I probably know more about the UN, UN sanctions, UN General Assemly Orders, UN actions, UN contributions to science, and UN intervention over the past 50 years than you do.

I also know alot about the US, and I know which I trust more.

Ritter claimed that Iraq had WMD's in 98 and ridiculed the UN for not doing anything. He left the UN out of frustration. He was never allowed to inspect ALL of Saddam's palaces. He then recieved $400,000 to participate in a anti-american documentary and his story took a 180. That money came from the "oil for food" program. What made him change his mind?

He was also recently put on probation for soliciting sex with a 16 year old.

Maybe you should stop thinking that everyone who's anti-Iraq war has been paid off by someone, or is part or some world-wide consqiracy to discredit the US.

The Iraq War stunk from the day it started and now it's unbearable.

It wasn't until nearly a year and a half into it that I started researching, and I don't like to dabble in conspiracy theorist bullshit.

Scott Ritter gives us some insight into the Iraq War. He is not my only source, but one of many.

Thinking that he was paid off? It was documented by the IRS! Ritter told you what you already wanted to hear (after he was paid off). If he was still screaming that they had WMDs, you would say he was a liar. If Ritter is just one of your sources, and one you consider reliable, then all I can do is laugh.

Ritter was screaming that the UN was corrupt and not doing its job properly (ie, UN Inspectors passing on information to US officials).

He was only saying, in 1998, that he was annoyed that his team was blocked by the Iraqi's because they believe UN inspectors were passing info onto the US - which they were.

Really? then what was the CNN interview about where he was "only saying" that if Saddam doesn't comply with the inspections then we should take another action. He said that diplomacy and sanctions weren't working, there was only one other thing to do. He was asked,"Do you mean war"? He said again," There is only one thing left to do. You said it not me. It's up to the president, not me."

Well he probably did come to that conclusion at some point. I have come to many conclusions that I have reassessed in light of new information. I'm sure he's done the same.
