amytiville horror is real. they say those who tried reading the true manuscript died or fell terribly ill because of the jinx and the film in the 1974 was filmed in a copy of the house because when they tried filming in the real house paranormal events happened the story of amytiville horror is real and it scares me alot.

@LABUALL The guy who mainly contributed to the writing of the book admitted it was fictional, with them discussing ideas for fictional elements to add over bottles of wine.

Also, the house was bought from them and lived in for 10 years, and not a single tiny thing happened. Also, there's inconsistencies, such as the apparent hoof prints in the snow, despite there having been no snow. The film is even less real as the makers turned down the script from the main guy for a fictionalised one.

THEY COMPLETLY OVERLOOKED THE MAIN POINT the house was supposedly haunted because Robert Joseph DeFeo Jr was a heroin user and hated his family one night he went into his mum and dads bedroom (3am roughly) and shot his dad 8 times in the back then shot his mum twice... he moved on to shoot his brothers then his 2 sisters... This is about George and Kathy Lutz who moved into 112 Ocean avenue on the 18th december and 28 days later they moved out... and i havent even seen the movie!

I was right down the street when they filmed this.. in high school! antioch, IL ended up going to check out the house they filmed in and awesome!! looks just like the original but in Wisconson right over the border from IL Sweet!! @tjereds I agree with you 100%. The movie was a complete let down. Margot Kidder and James Broilin understood the Lutzes. They actually talked with them. Margot actually had black hair like the real Kathy. James didn't go overboard being possessed. They stuck with the book and the Lutzes. Why does every remake completely suck. Nightmare Sucked, Amity sucked. Okay...The Friday the 13th was okay, but....still didn't beat the original. These movies are classics and should be left alone.
