Why do the missiles turn? Im new to Halo 3 so yeah...

there laser guided once they have a target they go for it and if they cant hit they try to turn to hit the target and end up in a circle

missile pod rockets automatically try and lock onto the target - the vehicle which has a red square aimed at it when u shoot it with the missile pod

They're homing missles. When the cuticle of the missle pod is on a vehicle it'll lock on and stay lock on till you look away. When you look away it still locks on for a couple seconds so you shoot and they fly towards that vehicle. The thing is they can't make sharp turns so they just keep curving around untill they hit something.
