"Full-figured" used to mean maybe 160 - 170 lbs. Now women are 300 lbs. and go around in tank tops with butt-crack shorts. I'm not saying girdles were a good thing. But it points up the fattening of society, along with wider aircraft seats, bigger sizes for women, etc. A lot more flesh is exposed, and it ain't attractive. Maybe we should go back to those Victorian corsets, which were at least good for a fetish thrill.
I remember seeing this commercial as a teenager (18) and I thought Jane Russel was just some old lady lol
