@xImApopMusicFreak Our peke died in Feb of heart disease, he was 16yrs old. We have had a hard time these past few months but are dedicated to getting another peke in the spring. I truly understand and wish you the best. We have a few vids of him posted, we took them when he was ill but you can see the dogggie within that would not stop.

ahw, this so reminds me the time where the puppy back in brazil was little enough to throw his whole body to cover the tip of my shoes. He really liked to do that, maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan he was so damn cute. And still is.
Not if you train them, they won't be that hard, they often don't "litter" in the house, because they're really small and they're really picky to eat. And there are sleeve pekingese, pekingese that grow up to 6 to 8 pounds flat. But if not, then they're just regular but they grow not big like a golden retriever, and not small like a chuhuahua. So basically, average, like about 10 to 20 pounds. Probably about 12 for regular healthy ones.
@blastroice Not always true. The problem with pekes is that they are hyper intelligent, very stron willed and very stoic. You have to work hard to establish yoru alpha role with them and then encourage them to run. Mine is a terror when outside. A cushion on the couch when inside.
I used to raise them and they are wonderful. Live in northern New England and they loved playing in the snow. Very hardy and so much fun to have around the house. Love 'em.
Their long backs, relative to their legs, make them vulnerable to back injuries. Care should be taken, when picking them up, to give Pekes adequate back support: one hand under the chest, the other under the abdomen. Short legs give some Pekes difficulty with stairs; older dogs may not be able to go up or down stairs alone.
Pekes' main problems are eye issues and breathing problems, resulting from its tiny skull and flattened face, and skin allergies. An especially common problem is eye ulcers, which may develop spontaneously. Pekes should never be kept outside as their flattened faces and noses can develop breathing problems,
Pekingese dogs are ususally very lazy,my dog had a problem with his left eye and that's why a woman sold him to me.SHe wanted to get rid of him because his left eye was SICK!!!!My mother,however,rescued him and gave hundreds of dollars for him and he thankt us like that:

I got a peke from an animal shelter. He was given away because his former owners couldn't manage him. I soon understood why - he was SO difficult, sharp as a tack but stubborn and aggressive. He seemed to hate us all - except my husband, whom he worshipped at first sight.
With a lot of patience, though, he became milder, and learned to love my kids and me. He never lost his feisty character though! Today he would lay his life for us. I don't think I could ever have any dog but a peke now!
They are wonderful pets. About the feisty personalities; that is what makes them so lovable. X-D. Small balls of terror-fun playfulness, funny bark, cuteness, list goes on.

A typical pekingese is light brown if im not mistaken, and your getting one for free? Thats great these dogs are typically expensive, 300 and up some go into the thousands, anyways they are very cute and small and cuddly just make sure you keep it disciplined they tend to be less active than other dogs but still need exercise or they will gather up large amoutns of energy and release them all at once hehe and who is giving two away? I want one xD
I lost a peke/poodle/maltese mix and he passed away :( I'm getting another puppy (his brother but from his parent's 3rd litter, he was from the first one). He looked just like that when he was a puppy (His face was less flat though and when he grew into an adult, his face was shaped like that of a maltese though)...Still the cutest thing!

Pekingese dogs are ususally very lazy,my dog had a problem with his left eye and that's why a woman sold him to me.SHe wanted to get rid of him because his left eye was SICK!!!!My mother,however,rescued him and gave hundreds of dollars for him and he thankt us like that:
He was always very nice
NEVER EVER bit someone
Protected our house
Loved sweets
Was just beautiful!!
All the money we paid for his medication was worth it!!But now,i live in Australia and i had to give him away....stil sad

i work at Petsmart and i help a Pekingese for a lady dam dog fell asleep on my arm the only small dog ill like stupid little fluff balls are so cute and lazy

My pekignese was the same when she was young. :) Now she's 1 and a half years old. They are the best dogs in the whole word. :)

I got a peke from an animal shelter. He was given away because his former owners couldn't manage him. I soon understood why - he was SO difficult, sharp as a tack but stubborn and aggressive. He seemed to hate us all - except my husband, whom he worshipped at first sight.
With a lot of patience, though, he became milder, and learned to love my kids and me. He never lost his feisty character though! Today he would lay his life for us. I don't think I could ever have any dog but a peke now!

They are wonderful pets. About the feisty personalities; that is what makes them so lovable. X-D. Small balls of terror-fun playfulness, funny bark, cuteness, list goes on.

@dinastein44 i've had Pekes my whole life and would'nt have any other breed.i now have a black and white male who is my best dog yet.

i'm getting a pekingese but i don't know what it looks like yet because they offered me one cuz they are giving two away so is there anything you can tell me bout them. What do most pekingese look like are they usely white or brown please tell me.

A typical pekingese is light brown if im not mistaken, and your getting one for free? Thats great these dogs are typically expensive, 300 and up some go into the thousands, anyways they are very cute and small and cuddly just make sure you keep it disciplined they tend to be less active than other dogs but still need exercise or they will gather up large amoutns of energy and release them all at once hehe and who is giving two away? I want one xD

I lost a peke/poodle/maltese mix and he passed away :( I'm getting another puppy (his brother but from his parent's 3rd litter, he was from the first one). He looked just like that when he was a puppy (His face was less flat though and when he grew into an adult, his face was shaped like that of a maltese though)...Still the cutest thing!
