  • i love how, in the end, the girl's story (your narrative) is "get a jobbed" back on yourself. . .i think as Christians, we do this so often, and that is to project all of our negativity on others. We judge and do not love. . .and I love ur stories complexity and simplicity

  • Go Emily! Why can't we all act and think this way (Emily's way)?

  • what so many people forget is that the problem was not that he was rich, but that it was an idol in his life. You can be rich and be godly at the same time. Was something wrong with Abraham or David or Solomon? The problem is not whether of not we have money or not but is it an idol in my life. I know people who we would say are wealthy and yet they give a lot of it away. Jesus did not damn the man for being rich but for it being in the place of God.

  • @chichard8407 Yeah. Keep tellin' yourself that, buddy...

  • I know what you are saying, and I agree that Jesus didn't damn the rich for just being rich. But that's not what this song is about. it is about the NEED in this world and how we- yes we in suburbia or not in suburbia- are all guilty of not addressing it enough.

  • @chichard8407 Yeah preach it!

  • just wanted to tell you i love this video..I think God would be happy if we gave ALL we had to the poor. That is what God asked the rich young ruler to do...it seems we sometimes think that story dosnt apply to us. thanks...Jesus dosnt have to go through your trash....you proven that

those people that we are supposed to help. We dont need our million dollar houses and our BMW and designer purses. After we leave this life none of those things matter anyway. What does matter is what we do for Christ here on Earth, and he tells us that we should help the poor. "Socialism" and altruism are not the same thing.

Good job on the video =]

. I volunteer at the City Mission where I live and I see both types of people all the time. The kind that dont deserve any help because they dont care, and the kind that are trying but arent able to get back on their feet. The whole point of the video and song was that it is

  • We are not required to literally give everything we have to the poor. However, there are many families out there who are poor not because they spent all of their money on drugs and alcohol but because they have had a tragedy happen to them in their lives and they were never able to recover.

  • individuals amass their own wealth + then are forced (or are guilt-tripped) to give to the poor = SOCIALISM. Perhaps it would be easier just to give the church power over all the companies?

  • This kind of makes me mad. I've always had a problem with rich people.

  • thought provoking

  • Overall I liked it. The moral is in the right place, however I feel the delivery was a bit extreme. Although that may be necessary for some to soak it in I guess.

  • Extreme??? Soak it in??? What IS our country, but only the richest country with the highest level of living in the existence of man, and we can't take care of our own poor!!! The widow's mite. REMEMBER THE WIDOW'S MITE.

  • thanks eric. powerful message, keep pumping them out!

  • Excellent video.

  • Good stuff. I linked to this video from my blog.

  • What a beautiful way to approach such a difficult topic. Thank you for creating this, and saying what needs to be said. My church faces similar issues, with the homeless of this world. You guys are an inspiration. Thank you!

  • Awesome. Great, and painfully accurate points communicated very well! Keep up the fantastic work guys.
