Yea, I saw the concert with fates warning a sanctuary too in Chicago what was it 1990? It was amazing! Fates were my fav because of beautiful melody intricacy and fabulous intelligent/sincere lyrics. Cheers!
Yeah, Ray is still great, he can sing very well, but it sucks that he could go extremely high and now he has a hard time reaching medium high notes. He really lost is range.
Best Fates album is by far "Awaken the Guardian"! Ray was good for awhile but now he blows, as does James LaBrie of Dream Theater.
John Arch's solo album kicked ass! He's still got the chops, but doesn't wanna' tour... too many drunken idiots in the crowds, & too much cig smoke in the venues.
Haha, yeah, it's great how good you sound in the studio. I'm a huge Fates fan and I also loved the JA solo CD, but don't kid yourself - if he toured after all these years he'd be shot after the first week.
I wish I could see him live with Fates. I've seen him live with Redemption when they were on tour with Dream Theater and Into Eternity, and he was really great then.
Yeah, I know. Ray these days is a shadow of his former glory! It's a shame how some singers deteriorate with age. Some keep their chops, like James LaBrie, Bruce Dickinson, and some are just painful to watch now (Halford, Alder)
I love this song. First time i am seeing it "live". I am trying to learn it on guitar. But these fast downstrokes are killing me. Always getting a cramp.^^
el no exit es tal el mejor disco de uno de los mejores grupos de metal progresivo,y silent cries una de sus mejores canciones, uno de mis vocalistas favoritas

I agree LaBrie is still brilliant. Ray is also great he just uses a low register now, but he still sounds amazing to me!

Yeah, the John Arch album was incredible. I only wish Zonder were the drummer on that instead of Portnoy.

Sanctuary? Ray was never in Sanctuary. You're thinking of Warrel Dane.

Fates Warning toured with Sanctuary along time ago. I saw the same tour in Oakland at the Omni. Great gig.

Ray Alder is one of the greatest vocalists ever. I think his voice is so awesome.

Ray even has to hit that bottle after hitting the high notes (1:40). You go Ray.

As cool as it is to see footage from this era, Ray is a bit off here!

This is one of the hardest songs to sing,, even for Ray. His voice has changed now and its even harder to hit that range from hell.
