  • This was fun to watch, guys. BTW - mostaccioli is also known as penne lisce (smooth penne) or penne without ridges. We use it a lot in pasta casseroles, so the word mostaccioli is often substituted for a casserole made with it.

  • I'm from Chicago and I can't shake the accent still after 34 years of living in LA. Oh and now after seeing this vlog I'm going to have difficulty today speaking to anyone without them asking, "ARE YOU FROM THE MIDWEST?" ha ha!

Very cute Sister in law!!! Dana Made cute kids.

You guys are way cute together.

  • this was so great! you guys are hilarious!

  • We are HUGE on mastacoli (sp?) in Central Illinois!!! And were probably huge because of it! LOL!

  • MakeMarc - what a great quote. It always makes me happy when I find out that people considered genius happen to have the same opinion as I!! Ha!

  • Hi Jan Jacobsen. I remember you from a round-up show we did together in Chicago. Sam Harris you are so much fun. You and Jan are so great together. I love the bit about your mother.

I'm glad you are still at Disney and doing so well. It was great seeing you. I've been watching Sam's Vlog's since this summer and what a surprise to see you today. I've been a fan of Sam's almost since the beginning. Thank you for sharing your life.

    Happy New Year

  • priting out that receipe....dunno how it's gonna sound with my Texas accent, though!

  • Janny is as funny and cute as her brother. She doesn't sound like she's from Chicago though for some reason. Maybe the Florida accent is starting to rub off on her. Sam, I think we should do a vlog people diet challenge for 2008! Oh yum cream cheese chipped beef DIP!!! You must have pineapple cheese ball dip. It's delish! Google it for the recipe. The best baked mostacolli is at Papa Joe's in Oak Lawn or Orland Park. You guys are hilarious!

  • Oh my God, that was SO enjoyable!!!!!! Loved you both to pieces. Sam, I am officially doing what I said I would never do. In fact, what used to bug the living hell out of me when I was single. I am happy with my Hubbie so anyone over thirty that I know that is single, I stay up at night thinking of a match. Scary!!!! lol

  • It's 'mostaccioli' ('moustache')

from Barilla's website: Mostaccioli, known in Italy as "Penne Lisce," are a specialty of the Campania Region in southern Italy which includes the cities of Naples, Capri and Sorrento. Penne, which means "pen" in Italian, gets its name from its shape. Penne are tube-shaped with angled ends cut to resemble a quill or pen point. Unlike penne which are ridged, mostaccioli are smooth in texture.
