Hi,

When i add pictures to my website, they arrange and view online ok on my laptop which has a 13 inch screen, but when someone looks at it from a computer/laptop with a different size screen the images dont fit correct they over lap each other etc do you have any tips or know what im doing wrong,

i use dreamweaver CS4 and jpegs which are created in photoshop CS4

only the first two says next and prev, 1 of 2, 2 of 2 (in the down left corner)

And the pictures I added only say "1 of 1".

Did you just insert the images in the very beginning or did you set code first? I mean even to get the pictures in those spots first? Just making sure i use every step right.

@MorgannLovesMatt For this tutorial coding is placed first. I coded locally so it links with the folder I have set for the images.

umm, not helpful for beginners. i feel like these tutorials always miss so many steps. why can't they start with "step one, open dreamweaver..." if I knew how to get to where this guy is now, I probably wouldn't need this tutorial in the first place. so much info missing.

when the image is large, clicking next only goes up to two ? how can i make it so it goes next and prev to all the images, thanks

When I choose the Thickbox widget in DW it says ........."While executing objectTag in Thickbox gallery_57FF24E6.html, a JavaScript error occured. Anyone know how to fix this?

Great tutorial - works really well as long as I keep the thickbox_demo file names, can I change them to my own jpg names?

thats strange as I had a jpg called honey (instead of thickbox etc. img) and 1 called honey_big (instead of thickbox etc thumb) n although it worked perfectly in dreamweaver live and 'view in browser,' when uploaded to site (whole folder uploaded) when small image clicked on just came up with little blue face icon. I've obviously done something wrong! - I've uploaded the page at ruishtoncottagepups.co.nz/prod­ucts.html but have had to call them all by the thickbox name

Definitely a file path issue,make sure your following the path including folders in your coding @mrsdesignoptions

Another question is I want to change the letters in the box, to be exact the word "Close" into russian but dreamweaver says that the coding of the document is not UTF-8 and advises to change it. How to do it?

hi, I created the gallery, everything is prefect when I preview it with firefox....HOWEVER, when I view it online, I select a thumbnail and it opens the large image in a new page! What should I do?? Please help!!!

might want to look for "_blank" in your coding, that creates a new window. "_self" keeps it in the same.

@sinni0604 I had the same problem. You need to upload the script and ccs files to the file that your .html is in. i thought it went along with the pictures but it must go with the html. Thank you Adobeasytips for this video!

It does not work when I view it on Firefox or internet explore, but it works fine when I go to Liveview in Dreamweaver

Publish all the files to your site and then test it in the browser. The browser may not be recognizing some of the local files.

In order to create the gallery, I created a new html file and put it in the same directory as my site, but when I view it online, I select a picture and all I see is the grey rather than a zoom of the thumbnail. So how exactly am I suppose to publish it

Could be an issue with the coding not matching the name of your picture files.

Thanks for the tutorial. It works great. I have just one question: I figured out how to change the Image "2 of 8" caption part in the lightbox.js file but is there a way to add descriptions to each picture?

Oh Dreamweaver cs4 automatically throws that up when I start adding my own code. All I was doing was adding a "break" to drop one of the images down to the next line. I'll throw you a message with the html I used, it's simple. YouTube doesn't allow us to type out the code in comments.

If you mean the code and design at the same time, I clicked the button "split". If your talking about the pop up image you can view it by using live view or testing the gallery in the browser.

I see you say you used "command" on the mac. Do you have Adobe Extension Manager? Once I download an extension I will activate it through the extension manager.

The way it works is the extension gets activated through the manager.Once you do that go to insert (at the bottom of the list you should see widgets.)

Yes, this widget is using jquery and the framework includes a link on the bottom of the larger view to navigate back and forth.

Hi there, i just watched your video how to make a photo gallery in adobe dreamweaver. Everything is going fine exept that when i insert the widget my webpage gets aligned to the left instead of the middle. Even tough i put the 2 standard pictures in a table that is centered everything ends up being on the left side when i preview it in Firefox :/ Help would be appreciated.

Since you have an existing table you'll have to use some css to adjust the position or use the ap div, it seems that this is the issue,

Ok, just found the solution. Many firefox users will see their page getting left adjusted after inserting thickbox. The sollution is:

Open css folder, then open thickbox.

Change this CSS code under "global settings needed for thickbox": *{padding: 0; margin: 0;}

To this: *{padding: auto; margin: float;}

and that should fix it :)

Let's be specific though so their's no confusion. The framework/code they provide I would suggest you use. But as far as the names, that can obviously be whatever you want. I kept the names and just added a number to show the simplicity.

I think what you meant was you just used different names, because if you used different "coding" we would be working with something different than the extension.

It's hard to say, make sure you don't move the images out of any folder and also you test the index page with all the other output files in your main directory. Keep everything organized.
