this is what i do:

download a movie i want to watch via torrent.

transfer it to my ipod touch 4th generation.

use the mirror image thing using ipod touch 4 g to appletv and watch movie there.

plug in my hdmi to my HD screen and play it.

What apple TV does:

plug to HD screen, pay for(renting the movie/show thus not having the file on u :) ) and then play it. depending on ur internet connection, u will have a circle in the middle waiting to browse ur payed for movie/show.

I love Apple products... usually. I have to say, I never liked the old Apple TV. Too limited: much better to pair your TV with a Mac Mini and an Elgato USB TV tuner, giving you far more capability. Now, the new Apple TV doesn't even have a hard drive, and it runs iOS... which is pointless on a device that isn't touch-screen compatible. Apple took a bad product, and nerfed it. Now it's even worse. Sorry, but this loyal Apple fan won't be buying that garbage!

BIG MISTAKE Jobs. I would've bought the last Apple TV model because AT LEAST it had a hard drive. Instead of improving this product, you made it smaller and cuter and increased uselessness power. If it would've had iOS on it it would've had a better chance. I guess it's fair to say Google has leapfrogged you with Google TV which actually has the full Android OS and is fully integrated with TV programming..and apps anyone? hard drive don't seem to last they keep braking such as Seagate FreeAgent 1.5tb & 2tb TERRIBLE.it started making clicking noises and stopped working 5 got replace in less then 6 months.I want to get Small claims court going against Seagate.I was Hooking the Seagate FreeAgent to WD TV LIVE to I could watch tv.but one thing I was upset with WD tv live was it did not have a Netflix App and then they came out with Wd Tv Live Plus so now I have to buy a new one.Seagate & Western Digital 2 companys
