He just bend the card between thumb and middle and ring finger the let the card go with the thumb...

If you gonna do the same, push the card a bit up so it sticks out a bit from the rest of the deck and use your index finger to let the card go!

Hope it helps a little, it's kinda hard to find a tutorial on youtube...
