this video is great. you should go on to MYBUSK and put your video on the. you will be able to get donations from people all around the world who like your video w w w MYBUSK (dot) c o m
I HATE ppl who think busking is the same as begging. It's SO NOT the same. these ppl have something to give, and try to be creative. It's also the perfect audience: If you don't wanna hear the music, you just keep walking. unlike concerts (the captive audience) or cd's that you pay for first and quite often walk away wanting your money back. If you like it, you stand there and listen a while. this kinda stuff livens up any city. its good for the soul.
@thunderscratch66 I definitely know that busking is not the same as begging in Seattle. The musicians I know walk away with less than ten bucks for a whole day, while the beggers hats fill up with 5s and 10s, in just an hour.
Congratulations on winning the award for the documentary last year.
I hit my 500th Day of street performing on January 23rd this year . It was a quiet celebration - not much notice - but in my heart, I celebrated the day as a milestone.
I'm still street performing and loving it - and continuously striving to create new opportunities to work more, and grow more fully as a singer and as a person.
Thanks again for the beautiful work , "Busking the Big Apple".
I was especially touched by several of those people expressing their experience such as the woman singer Beth Wild and Yovani, the flute player.
People in the city become disconnected with life. Street preformers serves the purpose of reconnecting us to our hummanity through beauty of sound and art. They provide a human service to the mudane exsistence of these times. I congratulate you all (ICTV) for your wonderful documentary.
In the definition the part about soliciting money isn't appropriate, more so that "generous public donations" are encouraged and what definitely keeps the street arts thriving. Thank you. ~ Vi An (Canadian)
this is a great video.... we have a lot of people in india doing street performances too trying to make a living out of it, but we never exactly look at it like art ... this puts a lot into perspective.. do what you love doing.

Very well put together perspective from the buskers. A lot of personality, and almost aggression coming from the Naked Cowboy.

I'm a full-time busker in South Australia. I found this very inspiring...we all have the same ups and downs, but I'd hate to work NYC in the winter!
