I disliked the vid because i think that u didnt show ANYTHING! and dont call me faggot because u could show skirmish gameplay,castle's siege,online gameplay better levels and battles and the powers of the heroes....moreover the strategy...

@assosfix I do not recall ever calling anyone a "faggot". As I explained, a skirmish battle or even most of the missions in the campaign would be a lot longer than 10 minutes,and I just wanted to give a flavor of the game for those who may not have tried it, not to provide a detailed playthrough. It is a VERY big game for the time, and there are a lot of elements to explore, and I could not put all of it into a single video.

@GeroWeko Hard to say from such a vague description. Do they just die for no reason, or do they get defeated in combat too easily? If you find your units are too easily killed try turning the difficulty down to easy. Also, try combining units so that they can defend each other, for example combine archers and soldiers into one unit.

Purchase the heal power as soon as you can, and use it before the entire unit is killed. It recharges fairly quickly, so use it often.

@overlord133 Interesting! I presume from your description that there is a bug which causes all of your units to die if you have not viewed the battle school tutorial? I have launched new games and started campaign without viewing the tutorial and not had that problem. Maybe you just need to view it once when you launch your first game?

The servers for all 3 went down on the 1st of January 2011. The community is being kept alive by a few loyal to the games using private servers.

I love these games! Especially RotWK! <3

@TheEruIluvatar I agree. ROTWK is so different from the others, with a greater variety of units available, some very unique (half-trolls?) that it is a worthwhile game on its own whether or not you play the other two.

I should also point out that skirmish mode offers a lot of nice options, including playing for example rohan vs. rohan or gondor vs. rohan, and a LOT of maps ranging from 2 castles to 8 or more.

@OldFartKeyWester Also, your record as a skirmisher updates your level, and as your level goes up the armies pitted against you become more difficult to beat, so you can spend lots of hours just playing skirmish! IMO I would buy the game just for the skirmish capability alone!

@thtchercar93 to play online with other people using the internet yes of course. There is a single player story mode and skirmish mode though that requires no internet.

As indicated, rotwk is Rise of the Witch King, and expansion pack to the LOTR series. In order to use rotwk you must have EITHER Battle for Middle Earth OR Battle for Middle Earth II installed (on the same machine.). If you bought your games on a cd or dvd version you must also insert the dvd (or the 1st dvd of the cd set) into a drive and start it in order to launch the game, but you do not need to have the orginal game running to use the expansion pack. I hope this helps.

Also, you can buy rotwk separately, but it is cheaper to buy a set if you don't already have one of the required games. You can get all 3 games in one pack for under $US50 if you check around. Once you have the pack and install it just insert to cd or dvd in your drive and double-click the icon to launch. Leave the disk in the drive while you play, as you will need it to store saved games and to access on-line options.

The literature says you need eithe bfme or bfme2 to use rotwk. I presume it would need to be installed on the machine you intend to use. I am now playing all 3 games on a Vista 64-bit system with 16:9 widescreen HD monitor, and quad core processor and it looks really good at high settings. This video was made on an xp sp2 machine with only 1G ram and a single pentium 4 with onboard intel graphics (no card)

Well if you had read my comments you would not be disappointed. I stated that I included the opening cinemas and opening setup for both the evil an good campaigns.
