  • FRY ME SOME LIVER

  • I have always loved this song, but just like some of James brown's songs i cant understand but a few words of it, I need help with the lyrics

  • organ-gasam

  • Brilliant! This song always plays at work, and I was trying to track it down. I finally managed to catch some of the lyrics and was like..."wait, this is Cry Me a River?!" Awesome song, and awesome cover!

  • Saw him "live" a few years ago @ Westbury....OMG!...Surreal...He was wonderful!..Brought me right back to thelate 60's- early '70's

  • That's Hollywood crap anyway. Joe Cocker rocks and always will!

  • Arrangement by Leon Russell? Great, especially those antiphonal horns in the refrain.

  • @greatbighand yes Leon Russel !! master arranger and leader of Mad Dogs and Englishmen !!! Leon is a force of nature that helped shape American rock n roll ,, in the late 50's and early 60's he was like Jerry Lee Lewis ,, I suggest you watch the concert for Bangladesh ,, or look up Youngblood on utube !!

  • @kingkanetumba Oh, thanx: unfortunately due to age I know all that stuff. But are the arrangements of MDE all by Russell?

  • @kingkanetumba Leon is the best piano player Ive ever heard.

  • this is his best IMO.. thanks for sharing

  • when I hear this guy sing, 0r more so see him performing on stage, I thank god for one more day of life

  • Used to play this at Popeye's'Drive- In on the jukebox while waiting on my ride to High School....

  • Try Julie London's version. A real sultry steamy song. I think she was the first to sing this. My wife sings it like Julie. Red Hot! Me? I like Joe's versions.

  • I like Diana Krall's version better, but this one's good, too!

  • lindissima !!! nota milllll

  • One can't say that there's anyone out there that is or was similar to Joe Cocker. Your rock Joe!!!!!!

  • Mad Dongs & Englishman--one of the most inspired albums. What a singer...what a band

  • I cried a river over you. But no more~

  • This gets my head a noddin and shakin (=

  • One of my all time favourite Cocker songs!!!

  • You just had to live thru it to understand it.....a generation of the original peace love and happiness (and a lotta drugs) He is bluesy and amazing and very cockney.

So glad he is still appreciated.........

  • @rubbery, yes Leon Russel is great, Cocker said " leons one best musicians on the planet" tho he has an EGO the size of texas, BUT COCKER is the real SUPERSTAR, HES got million sellers in the 60s 70s 80s 90s now the 10s leons career[not as a studio hack]but ass a rock star only lasted about a decade , thanks to joe for asking his help on this tour mad him a star i saw leon w/ elton john 12/10 can hardly walk STILL agreat show he was wicked

  • As a child, I could never watch Joe Cocker perform, his movements simply unnerved me. But the real hero IMHO, is Leon Russell, who did this remarkable arrangement. BTW Barbra Streisand's version, although different, is also incredible.

  • RIDICULOUSLY GOOD. JOE'S VOCALS BUT THE ARRANGEMENT IS TREMENDOUS AS WELL

  • To @ineptDolls; I couldn't aggree more..."Mad Dog and Englishmen" was the 1st record I ever bought (in 1970), so that may have an influence :-) . You are right about comparising Cocker to enyone else. It is said that "When Cocker has made his version of a song, no one else try....

  • I like the live version better and it is not because of the bouncing boobs!

  • A real classic! Joe Cocker can still 'do it' today even though he is 66 years of age and it's harder for him to hit all the high notes today than in 1970...

  • WTF is American Idol? That some sort of fail club for wannabe stars? And second rate judges looking for a quick buck? Sorry but Joe Crocker is a lot better than anything released in the past 20 years. With very few exceptions.

  • He wouldn't do well on American Idol?Dylan,Neil Young, and David Gilmour wouldn't do well on American Idol.Nothing of any worth has ever come out of that show. It's about celebrity. It's got absolutely nothing to do with music.

  • Yes! I´d cry a river for Joe Cocker... he´s so darn unique, never get tired of listening to him.

CannelleInOK I agree with you...I don´t think he´s an acquired taste I´ve loved him since I´s about 10 years old and heard him for the first time, you just have to love the man he gives so much in each performance.

  • Saw him this summer - can't hit all the notes, but he's still the best at 66!

  • everything about this song is right on. The band is so tight and Joe's vocals are on fire !

  • what a voice, what a singer still after all those years. I have grown up with his music and still a fan of it! Yes he is still one of the best and I have to say, the "old" ones are the best :-)

  • that organ ... sweet

  • Love this song

  • This is probably the best version I have ever heard- and I've heard a lot of them!

  • american idol sucks.. they know nothing

  • @willypdyer 4 SURE

  • @ineptDolls: he "disrespected" the song? SInce when has rock and roll been about "respect"? This one blew my socks off when I was 12, and still does today.

  • I think I just had an orgasm. Love you Joe.

  • amazing

  • @ineptDolls For some, I think, Joe Cocker is an "acquired taste" I would hate to see him try out on American Idol...they would crucify him these days. btw...I never watch it...I hate it. But, his voice is unique and I love almost everything i've heard from him. To be honest, i've never heard any other version of this song so I can't compare them but I can't see myself liking any of them over Joe Cockers

  • @CannelleInOK honestly this is not one of my most favored songs but really and on a personal basis.. i heard an arosmith version and then heard joe... hahahaha NOBODY LIKE JOE COCKER...

dude just drips soul!!!! i do agree thou, he definatly is an aquired taste but once you get this guy, wow! I mostly love anything he does!

  • @CannelleInOK yea watch it now, they have a guy named casey abrams, he has that same voice quality, and hes in the final 12 and is definitely going to win it..

  • @CannelleInOK they are a pop show....they want excessive vocal solos and pop crap,he is a soul singer.

  • i tend to do the cocker movements when i listen to him......its not drug use....it's just joe lol

  • @andrewdeangelo1 wish i could see that xD

  • @CannelleInOK Joe has a special knack of taking a song and completely rearranging it. If you heard the original hit of this (by Julie London, I believe), you would note that it's almost unrecognisable. Check it out, just for your own pleasure; you'll be VERY surprised at what Joe heard in it that made him do this.

  • @CannelleInO forgettaboutit

  • @CannelleInOK - The first x-factor final featured Josh who resembles Joe in a big way. I know why you made the comments you did. Praps x-factor is going to examine talent outside the mainstream commercial sound? Cheers.

  • Joe crocker...i'd cry a river for you...

  • @hilaquea when i bought the album Mad dog-Englismn in '70, culdnt put down.I'd study every square inch of the pics--thrilled my soul.
