  • Interestingly enough, many years ago, the first guided missle cruisers were actually classified as guided missile frigates.

  • USS Cowpens (CG-63) is an Aegis guided missile CRUISER not a frigate.

  • The USS COWPENS (CG-63) is a TICONDEROGA Class Guided Missile Cruiser equipped with the AEGIS Missile system. AEGIS is not a Class!! Just like the ARLEIGH BURKE Class Destroyers... Wish they'd get it right!! COWPENS has a tradition of excellence that dates back to CVL-25 in WWII. I miss my Mooburgers!!
