Esta melodía se le dediqué a mi pequeña hija cuando nació, hoy tiene cuatro años y siempre está pendiente de tus videos, al igual mi hijo de tres años. Quiero que ellos también conozcan la música y tengan tu talento. Gracias... William.
you should use more dynamics and tone colour. u might wana know some backgrounds of the piece as well to help you and the piece work together. to me, it sounds a little bit boring. but keep it up! its stil gd
could you post the exact name/ opus number of this piece please? I would like to learn it, but I havent been able to find it from Melody/ Melodie alone. Thanks!
Is the name of the piece just melody?? Im looking for the sheet music but I cant find it anywhere :S So could you please tell me what the entire title is. TY Excellent playing BTW ;)
It's in the music book "The Great Piano Works of Grieg" It's a Warner Bros publication from a series of books and has a picture of Grieg on the cover.
I have loved Grieg for a while now, but have'nt been fortunate enough to "trip" against something new from him. I am wery grateful to have found this video of yours. I love the piano and you play wonderfuly, thank you.
Can't see how a person could question the increase in tempo... sounded like it was necessitated to me, and I had not seen the score or heard this piece before viewing this interpretation.
Why are you changing the tempo?it is not mentioned for us to play rubbato.try to keep the whole song in a single atmosphere and it will shurely sound better.
same, I checked when I saw ExaltationofDroll's comment, because even tho I was following my score it said piú mosso(more movement) at the bar he begins to change tempo at first. So...they ARE following score directions.
oh, and if I may be so rude, it's rubato, not rubbato. Sound like a rubber. Besides, rubato isn't the only way to indicate more freedom when it comes to tempo and style.
I used to listen to this vid daily but lost it when I switched to a new computer. The word Grieg just popped in my head a while ago and I'm so happy I found your vid again :)
Wonderful! I just sat down after a tiring day to a glass of wine and a bit of cheese...and trolled YouTube for some Grieg. This video was the perfecct acompaniment. Or vice versa, perhaps.
wow this is realy amazing.. i'm crying everytime i hear it :'( well, i heard it in tv the first time and i searched for it soo long and now i found it..i'm so happy..but what's the name of the song..it's of edvard grieg ok..but the songtitle?? sry, if my english isn't right, im from germany :)
You are right. I could have played softer, especially in the "piu mosso" part. There the music becomes louder and louder and to improve this effect I could have began more quiet. Thank you for your comment :)
Grieg is like, one of my favorite composers.
Ever since I first heard the city orchestra preform In The Hall of the Mountain King I was in love with his music.

Is your piano Cline, by Young Chang? Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I also have the same one and feel that the keys aren't firm enough...

It is actually in one of Grieg's lyric pieces. I think in the fourth book. There are several publisher who used his pieces for "best of" collections.
Klangzauberer 2 years ago
I'm sure it is in that book as well...?
I didn't say the "best of" collection - I quoted the exact title of the book which I have in front of me, which does have this piece in.

My only wish is that more of the "average" populous could have recording devices of superior sound quality.

rbmusique 3 years ago
Well, if you look into the sheet music you would notice that some parts should be played "piu mosso" which means faster.
Klangzauberer 3 years ago

kristiemunro 3 years ago
You understand that the "piu mosso" does not mean a sharp change of pace. Here you much wrong
lehamain 2 years ago
I think it's a matter of taste. In my opinion my changing is appropriate but I understand people who would find that it's too fast.
Klangzauberer 2 years ago
Piu mosso just means 'more motion'. How much more motion is up to interpretation...
mynameisyibble 2 years ago 4
Ye..well you do it badly..it's just too "brusque" (sry i'm french) and sudden, poor control, can be done better. Otherwise is good.
