Paco seems to have the same addictive effect as crystal meth. I guess it has to do with the fact, that those are particularly dirty drugs, mixed with god know what kind of shit. And it's basically the garbage of coke that's being used. Just like the crystal meth people cook at home with whatever they find. Horrible!

This shit is happening because of the massive amount of illegal immigrants that have been pouring into BsAs since the late 80's - early 90's. There are so many of them in BsAs nowadays that some villas miserias have populations in the tens of thousands, some even exceed 100,000, like Villa 31 for example. Drug traffickers, mainly Peruvians in this case, set up coke processing labs in the villas. These guys just took a look around them one day and saw an entire untapped market to profit from.

paco is similar to crack..argentina has paco, united states has crack..both are very addicting, both made cheaply, I hope both governments find alternatives to incarceration, although it comes down to one thing...no matter how many rehabs the persons addicted to any drugs are sent to...if they don't have a strong will and determination, they won't be free of their drug habit..

@pumasporvida Meth is the drug most consumed in USA is not only very addictive, it will mess your life up and is so difficult to recover from all the stuff you'll go through doing that drug. I've met blonde girls who were so pretties in the past but during the time they're meth consumers you'll see them so pale almost having yellow skin color and acne all over the face those girls use to be whores to get money to keep doing drugs. Meth crack, paco will take your life down right away.

Paco=crack. It's the residue from cocaine smoked freebase. freebase coke or smoking coke from a pipe is smoking "crack." crack is coke. you do know that right?

That's why paco/crack is so addictive esp when it's smoked.

@youlance29 well, its not really crack, its an even cheaper variation, using the ingredients for crack plus kerosene and other chemicals(including rat poison). It is very sad to see a country like Argentina going down like this, they had lots of potential.

@marcoskrause remember, there was a huge 80's crack epidemic in the US that is no longer an epidemic today. I don't know how bad the paco epidemic is in argentina, but i know the country with the worst drug problem is russia's vodka/alcoholism which is the #1 cause of death there. The population of russia is actually shrinking every year b/c of diseases and deaths due to alcoholism. i've never seen a country so devastated by a drug that kills and shrinks a nation's population year after year.

No Russia has a 142 millions of inb.In fact it just keep growing.alcohol just kills a few 100 k of men frankly the ratio is low considering the fact that Russia has this extra large population.

@cannoir Russia is the only country where their population is declining every year because of alcoholism. Alcoholism is their #1 cause of death. There is not one country in the world where the population of a country is on the decline because of drug abuse. the rest of the world's population is booming while russians are shrinking! Now that's some serious national drug extinction.

@youlance29 not to say that this isn't a big problem but its it is hardly is a national issue.You are using a big word."decline" their population fluctuates just like any country.they woulda passed an anti-acohol bill if it was threatening the core demographic of the nation.its something that is limited to very few regions.If you have seen the australians aboriginal, trust THEY have the real alcohol problem and its been fairly well documented even on youtube.

@cannoir the aboriginals and american indians have alcohol problems for sure but they do not represent an entire nation just a distinct group. no european, asian, or north/south american country has a declining population in the 21st century like russia. developed nations increase not decline in population as a total year by year except russia. you need to read more about their sad situation. tobacco is the #1 killer in the US killing 500K/year but our population still grows immensely.

@cannoir google "russia declining population" and st wikipedia's "russian demographics" to see that they have a serious population decline or depopulation. they have been declining by .5% or 700K PER YEAR for the last 15 years estimated to shrink the population of 143M today to 98M by 2050. they are at a critical stage in that they don't have enough young males to sustain their entire military and putin has called it their #1 national problem.
