Internet: Internet Connection : and changed connect sharing to Share a public IP address, then port mapping was available.

Its weird because i have a pc and can perfectly do it, maybe with a little common sense and going into Cmd prompt and typing ipconfig and seeing your iPv4 address and copy and paste it into the section that says Private IP in the port mapping menu then maybe just MAYBE i wont be a dipshit anymore. Dipshit.

here's my situation, i run my minecraft server through a windows laptop. However, my router is connected to my fathers imac, which is downstairs. Is there a way to do this port mapping, but get the ip for my windows computer? I need to know this because I dont have a way to run my server through his mac. Anyone out there that can help?

@jstyledipset Make sure your private ip is the private ip of your computer, go to System settings, click network, advanced, click TCP/IP and copy the IPv4 Address into the private ip section when port forwarding

If it doesnt worked try to:

- reset the adsl box

- check the ip adress(twice)(. Not ,)

- make sure the port is 25565

- make sure the ip isnt there in the properties file

- make sure you and your friend arent on the same minecraft acount

- online modes is true

- make sure there arent any banned players or ips

- watch my videos ;) !

I'm on a mac, and I have an airport extreme and I cannot for the life of me figure out why the ports are STILL not open even though I've finally figured out how to set up my airport extreme. I've done excactly what you did in this tutorial and i have a Airport Extreme router, but when i run the PFPortChecker it says that "Your port is NOT OPEN or not reachable!

The server works great, and I can log on to it, but my friends just get "connection timed out"
