@DarthLegoMaster2011 jack has a really defensive form of fighting and duel wielding is normally aggressive, so honestly duel weilding wouldn't fit his character if you ask me.

Will represents the "new" man in Christ, while Jack the Old. Will keeps him under control wif his sword...the Sword of the Spirit.. I like Jack in the first movie the best. In the sequels he kind of got goofier and doesn't seem like the menacing pirate he was here. This new movie coming out really makes him seem like a goofball. I still like the pirates franchise but it's just something I noticed

@redfirehands agreed, and with "blackbeard" being the feared, pitiless pirate is bad too -__- he was actually (based from personnal research) quite a nice pirate, being menacing but not pitiless, feared because he was puting on a mask of some pirate badass but played nice with prisonners and his crew. :S oh! and it took him 5 bullets and 20 cuts to kill him... quite awesome

Disney has to make a franchise out of everything nowadays, and in order to extend Sparrow's life on screen and maintain their corporate reputation, they had to rethink Captain Jack Sparrow as a product for the whole miserable family to consume. "Please move." For just a fight scene, this does so much to establish the two men's characters. Will's "innocent" earnestness - he's jumping into a game he does not understand but giving it his all. Jack's world-weary pursuit of his dreams of freedom and glory and his basic inability to be vicious even when it could save his life. They take each other's measure here and it rolls through the rest of the film. Sweet.
