There is absolutely nothing wrong with her middle part - as children (as I would know from when I played at that age) it is sometimes necessary for us to play at that speed. She will develop as suits be, but as it is there is nothing wrong with her performance, relative to her stage of pianist developement.
One final thought, Marin. The accompanimental chords in a Chopin must, as a general rule, be very soft and light so that the nuanced singing quality of the melody in the right hand can be appreciated. All the best in your music studies, Marin. Thanks again, Enzo, for putting up on your channel the performances of your musical colleagues.
Please, Marin, do not take my previous comment in an unintended way. They are meant as my personal ideas and are given in a spirit of constructiveness. It takes considerable courage for a person to get up on stage and present their music, from memory before an audience.
I know nearly everyone zooms away in the second section. My recollection of the Henle urtext edition is that Chopin gave no direction to speed up. At the very least, therfore, this cannot be regarded as obligatory. I definitely don't like the accelerando approach. ... The pedal should go through the semiquaver rests in the theme, as clearly marked by the composer at least on the first occasion. I know that virtually no-one does this though.
You guys feel really good about talking about "piu mosso" and shit BUT I DON'T THINK YOU FOLLOWED IT WHEN YOU WERE EFING NINE!!!! YEAH!!! I'M TALKING ABOUT YOU MsMikiliki!! SHUT THE HELL UP!!!
she's amazing for a nine year old, but on the full scale of pianists, she isn't that great. Technically she isn't at a level which anyone should really desire, and you can tell from her piece that she has very limited musical sense. The notes have been hammered into her head and she has been taught the way it should sound, but notice the mechanic-like way she plays, it shows you that no matter how hard she works, she will never truly become an elite pianist like a Barenboim etc.
Absolutely amazing! Marin is remarkably talented, and like hamilton, I remember her from the Concert in the Park. Thanks for sharing this with us, Enzo!
I bet she has been playing the piano for 9 years when this video was uploaded

It's amazing how much a child can grasp at an early age.
I kinda wish my parents would've beaten the fuck out of me till I could do something productive like this when I was her age.

i think when she did the part with piu mosso, she sped up too fast. It should not be so sudden. the speeding up should stretch for a few bars.

why does everyone always rush the middle part, and makes it sounds like shit.
PsychoSuo9000 2 years ago 5
the middle part has a piu' mosso tempo which means more movement/faster...

You're so right. I barely heard it here. It doesn't NEED to be that fast.

She's super! I hope you'll add more videos of her soon. Or better still, why not a channel of her very own? She deserves one!
