  • like the slide

  • Got anything to say, no. shut up. classic :)

  • Sounds like Wreckless Eric

  • nice

  • Killer. I mean shit. This is incredible. But this can't be the same '75 demo that had Sewer on it - the sound is altogether different for one thing. Ace though.

  • is this deffo the stranglers? sounds like a cover version by... er... forget it... why don;t you all go get screwed?

  • super tunes, where did you find these steve, much respect n thanx for sharing, brilliant :)

  • @martmako I found them down in the sewer! :o

  • INCREDIBLE version! cheers 4 posting.

  • It's a Sister Ray rip-off...but nothing wrong with that!

  • @steveobie1 Yes it does sort of, however I think that it's the peculiarity of the demo that it sounds that way ( I have a later demo that sounds completley different). Also the Version on the album sounds more like Born to be Wild by steppenwolf which is a more likely influence as JJ is a biker.

  • ive never heard this before and its a brilliant , fresh as fuck take on my fav Stranglers track, cheers for posting mate.

  • I got this one on a portugese boot-leg single, excellent stuff! It`s called on the label - Bitch, other side is "Grip" and " Buddies".....

  • This version is missing the 2nd verse " why cant you all be like a grainger man" but strangely I like this version better.I love Burnels voice ,so melodic.

  • This sounds like Ian Curtis fronting Warsaw doing "Bitching" - completely different than the final version....

  • why don't you tell me something new

  • As a fan this early versions incredible!!

  • Bar-Bitching...tellin' you the Gospel Truth !

  • Strangely enough I like this....JJ still has that yobbo voice going...seems to have lost it now...

  • Was this before Dave Greenfield was in The Stranglers?

  • Erm, are you listening to the same song as the rest of us?

  • Ah now i hear it. I was asking because as i remember on the album there is a keyboard solo part.

  • No he had joined the band by this point these demos originate from around early 76..

  • I can't even comment

  • far out, my favourite song...with slide!

    thanks man.

  • They were Punk before anyone knew what it was.

  • Pretty punk sounding for 75.
