when i cut my ends off it was the best thing i did for my hair. it makes it easier to brush and when your hair is easier to brush you won't get snags which cause breakage,which cause split ends, which cause more damage. either trim it regularly or cut it off. serious

You're asking the wrong question. Shampoo won't do much to help with damage. You may want to look into a protein treatment, but that is just a temporary fix, what you need is a good moisturizing conditioner to combat any more damage to your hair(I suggest herbal essences). If you don't want to cut all of your hair off like me, trimming is a great alternative to get rid of all of the damage. So trim your hair and don't use heat until the color is all grown out. Also, look into deep conditioning.
