@ Vanuha, You got to be kidding. Lonewolf Hersey folders are known for being the best semi-custom/production folder in the business. I hope you were joking or maybe are new to the brand. I have had a few ad either sold/traded them. Sometimes regret it,but none are sacred to me...lol Cant keep them all..but on a serious note,if you can get a T1,T2 or T3 you will be very pleased,as the build is awesome.
i think u could use the recon 1 for alot of fixed blade tasks. i saw a vid once where a guy took weights trying to smash the lock loose. the blade itself broke before the lock did. if that doesnt tell u anything it should
HI,this is one of the best knives ever made !!! I have a brand new one in box!! Been considering selling or trading it. They are no longer made and are highly sought after. If you have interest let me know.
I can see where the design might be acceptable for some level of wood batonning, but wouldn't the steel be bad for it? High end stainless hold an edge for a good long time and can take a certain amount of punishment, but wouldn't the edge break or chip much easier then something along the lines of high carbon 1095?
Aside from a multitool, this knife, (I do own it), would be the one blade I would take with me if I had to choose one blade for the rest of my life. The only draw back is that it is not made anymore and is pricey. The size and heft is welcome and comfortable, especially in the sheath that comes with it.
I don't use folding knife, I feel unsafe and that's just it.
Yep, it's kind of paranoia.
Now if that's what I have in a situation, where I need a knife I can easily give that habit up, but I strongly lean towards fix blades, that's me and that's it. :)
Beautiful looking knife. Looks burley as all hell. The liner lock looks to be sufficiently thick, but wow. Stating that a liner lock without a secondary reinforcement (eg. lawks) has "fixed blade capabilities", is a bold statement. Wish I had one to see for myself. No shop around here has one and I cant pull the trigger, at that price, without seeing one 1st hand.
This knife has been discontinued. You can call Lone Wolf and ask them to find you one from one of their distributors. Be prepared to pay $250 to $300 however.
I just bought a T3 and the sonofabitch makes a snapping sound you can hear half a block away. It's one of those sounds you never forget...like a Remington 870.
So I recently purchased what I thought to be this knife... Little did I know, it was misrepresented and I ended up with the bloody spearpoint version. Not pleased at all.
Look into the Short Kabar fighting/utility knife. It's the smaller brother of the one Nutnfancy calls the "Kabar Marine Combat Kinfe." I've done lots of research and for its size and weight, you can't find a better knife for the money. I'm planning on buying one. Rat Cutlery RC-4 or RC-6 are also worth considering -- heavier and more expensive, though.
stop doing any more of these reviews, it forces my brain to seize functioning and enhances my urge to go out and buy every knives you have've put out on youtube LOL
to expensive nuff said!

Now this is a knife that I could use. The handle would fit me well, considering my palms are five inches across at the knuckles.
Thanks, Nutn.

I have one and am a troop. S-30V steel, plenty of handle real-estate, a positive, strong lock and very, very well made.
Sounds to a knife akin to a pump shotgun being racked is to a gun.

for hardcore use.
the liner ....way massive enough....i abused one to the limits. great knife !
I am selling a brandnew one on ebay right now.
chronocentric67 2 years ago
how much?
XxXxXGR3GXxXxX 2 years ago
The liner doesn't look all that strong. Also it can only be carried tip-up. Cheap handle, no G10.
I like how it's sturdy, appears to have a thick strong blade. But it's overpriced for what it is.

I have an old friend who loves, LOVES that descriptive word "deployed" but he'd get lost in his backyard if he weren't fenced in.
The word "used" is actually what most people would prefer.
The word "deployed" is what wanna-be survivalists use.
Just saying.
The knife is USED.... not "deployed."

"deployed" is a verb. and nutn is not a wannabe, his diction is always accurate. dont hate
