Killer tone, killer playing, and of course killer guitar, was thinking of getting one, how would you rate the ESP you have??? they arent cheap, im just looking for some owner opinions, thanks
@chickabuka Thanks man... I purchased the KAMIKAZE in '03 and even had GEORGE sign the back of the headstock. I would recommend replacing the Screamin' Demon pick up and you will be good to go. The guitar weighs a ton but the action is killer. Thanks again. Mike
@chickabuka I replaced it with a Duncan "FULL SHRED" but to be honest I think its a bit too HOT. I am considering a WARREN DEMARTINI RTM but have not made up my mind yet. The Screamin' Demon was just too muddy for my taste.
@ARBallistic I hear ya, so many pick ups so little time, I know of someone who put a EVH frankenstein pick up in his ESP tiger/lynch and was quite happy with the tone. I would hate to put out all that money than have to start thinking of a new pick up. I would love to own one, none the less. like your amp set up too.
@chickabuka i own an esp sunburst tiger in purple and i love it. you get a warry true tone out of the maple body. but it weights ten thausand pounds, which i love , some guitars are neck heavy, this ones body heavy.
@rolipolirocks Im not a stranger to heavy guitars, I have 1976 lespaul custom, thats got some weight to it, Im just trying to decide between an EVH wolfgang or an ESP kamikaze III, desicions desicions. rock on
@chickabuka desicions desicions is right lol i tried out a black evh and a ESP horizon before choosing a GL guitar. in my opinion, the evh has the prestige of just that, being a evhs current buzzworthy axe, and the ESP HORIZON was just too generic as you see everyone and theirhe mom playing them, the George Lynch Guitars are Classics that he actually used back in his golden era unlike EVHs modern axe , still very nice guitars, but the Lynch guitars are lookers with the tone to back it up.
@rolipolirocks I dont necessary have a time limit, however the best deals are coming up, and the ESP lynch guitars are way more exclusive and the quality is top notch, but of course it comes with a price. you have had that guitar a while and my guess, you will never part with it and thats awesome and thats what i want next, is a guitar so awesome as if it were my last one. How was the playabilty and tone of the EVH,? and did u mind the stainless frets, thanks for your feedback.
@chickabuka oh no worries. like i said , the evh is a great guitar, all those improvents/modification ed did are all there , useful and very sweet, build quality i can only say is great, but i have a custom shop lynch not an esp signature series, but i played both and they played identical , and the Lynch ESPs can be found for super cheap prices used anywhere like ebay. i got mine for $1100
@rolipolirocks The wrench in my quest for a guitar is that im a lefty, I know of 1 ESP GL and its about, $2500, I know Ebay has had 1 or 2 and the bidding gets fierce for good quality lefties, happy thanksgiving and thanks.
@chickabuka i see, well to answer your question, the stainless steel frets are wonderful because you can dig in as hard as you want and never , ever worry about wearing down your frets with abusive bends, as far as the GL ESP, serch through DRUMCITYGUITARLAND i saw alot actually of kamikaze and tiger models on their website. they have a great relationship with ESP. HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you too, enjoy it. If you would like ill post a good review video of the ESP after black friday lol.
