  • When you say "fuck" it gives me an erection, guess I've seen too much porn.

  • @aclark141 Nah, it's the way she says it. I get the feeling Pushinguproses likes 'fuck'. I have to admit, it's a great word :D

  • "You didn't have any help did you"

    "Oh no way!" *closes GameFAQs*

  • HOME OF THE UNDERDOGS WOOOOO!!!

    iI LOVE YOU NOW!

i actually bought the real game when i was like 10-14 in the us at a k-mart i think for like 10 bucks or something... IT IS AWESOME!

i don't think any of our house computers can still play it cause its old. after i played it i had to read the books, and they are great in and old school perce anthony way.

  • arrows + myth = Aerosmith ^_^

  • The 10th riddle should be "The Doors"

THUD + ORES = THE DOORS.

Rolling Stones doesn't make any sense.

  • Welcome to "York-Easter"!

  • WAIT! WHAT!?!?! Compainions of Xanth!?!?!?! I thought that was just a freaking plot device for D.D.D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Excuse me, I have some game hunting to do on Amazon. . . .

  • @SimontheSorceror

Dude, it was just a joke. That was hardly worth calling someone a bitch and a whore over. Chill.

  • I think I understood the opening a little better than you. The game opens at the outer fringe of our Universe. Pink floaty guy is told by chain smoking guy that the "universe project" has been cut and unless he can find some thing of "redeeming value" within his universe, his funding will be cut off and his universe disbanded.

  • The intro reminds me of "It's a Wonderful Life" XD

With the God (that looks like a galaxy/stars) talking with....St. Paul, was it?

  • Green is to mean something fresh or new. In other words young. Hence why a newcomer can also be called a "Greenhorn". I have to admit though, the riddle was taking a bit of a stretch there!

  • I actually thought the 10th riddle was the Beatles. Get it? Thump or Beat. Metals. Well, the "als part". Beat als. Beatles

  • Yeah the mac was only good YEARS ago XDD

  • WOW whats up with the size of mike callahan's head at 13:54 its way to small compared to his body lol or is it supposed to be like that?

  • @pushinguproses

To answer your Green/Young riddle/question... Singer/songwriter Neil Young had an album, movie, and graphic novel titled: Greendale

That might not be the *real* reason or answer, but there's logic to it and it's the best I could offer.

And as you pointed out by solving the 1st riddle that the rest have a link to music: bands/artists etc., etc., so, there you go. : ]

  • @CoHScrapper Green is a synonym for young or inexperienced believe it or not. For example new soldiers are called 'green'. I think the comparison comes from plants, where the youngest plants or parts of plants are the greenest.

I know, useless info, but whatever :P

  • .....

I definitely did not expect that intro based on all the game imagery up to that point.

  • LIES ROSES!

I live on Long Island and I got o Callahan's all the time!

  • @ZyxthePest - Callhans blew up. Jake tried to start "Mary's Place" and got shut down by some hard case beaurocrat (sp) He then moved everyone down to Key West and opened "The Place." Because it was time.

  • Great choice of game to LP. The old Legend adventures should get a lot more love than they seem to get.

  • yay new Rosie lets play! =3

  • green can mean inexperienced possibly young

  • your voice sounds really cute.

  • I've also heard that riddle 10 can be Thud + Ores = The Doors.

  • the intro kind of reminds me of the beginning of it's a wonderful life.

  • One more thing: Ask Fast Edie to play one of his specialties, mainly The Drunkard's Song. It's sang by Spider Robinson and no one knows the complete lyrics since he changes them every time he performs it :)

  • @ServantOfBoron I know :) I've played this games a million times in the past, I don't ask Fast Eddie to sing near the end of the game, however. There's SO much stuff to do in this game (it already spans 40 parts) so I tried to stick to the basics.

  • @pushinguproses Yeah it's pretty long but worth every second. Anyway that song is great.

  • Good start PUS. This is one of the greatest games in the history of adventure games.

Parabolus and Gingraneetch are more or less GODS and Parabolus is our GOD and he wants to save us. That's the story more or less.

One tip though: you don't have to scroll the screen slowly, just right-click and you'll rotate 90 degrees at a time. Helps a lot :)

Can't wait for another clip. I actually wanted to this one myself but I decided to do another Legend's game: Superhero League of Hoboken :)

  • @ServantOfBoron PUS? Since when does Roses start with an S? ;)

  • @pushinguproses Typo :D Sorry :D

  • @pushinguproses PURrrrrrrrrrr

  • @pushinguproses PUR would be more correct and also something she does. Pus is just nasty.

  • @pushinguproses Its a shame it doesn't fit because in my language in means "kitten" like a small cat or something you call your dearest. :)

  • green means young as a plant term

  • Green is sort of slang for inexperience, or new. That's where young comes from.

  • green means young because some of its definitions are a.) fruit being not ripe (ie: young) and b.) green means inexperience, and young people are inexperienced.

from old english: grene, (earlier groeni), related to old english. growan "to grow,"

and it evolved from there to mean a whole lot of things.

  • I saw this on HotU so many times and I just kept glancing over it. But it seems like a pretty awesome game so far. The intro alone is one of the best I've ever seen.

  • This is looking great so far. But I'm just wondering why beings of the casmos would need money. But great LP so far, Roses.

  • Very strange intro...o_O

  • "Shall we play a game?" is my favorite lpers beginning now!

  • From legend, the makers of the most fun interactive fiction game of all time: Eric the Unready! How i miss Eric, snifff

  • I would assume young would be green because Greenhorn means inexperienced or new; just my guess though.

Good start to the LP. It looks fun.

  • I never would have finished this part.

Can't wait to see the rest of the LP Roses.

  • @RandCPlay Aha, I wasn't thinking of it that way. I was thinking Aero, then smith as something, but myth makes more sense as the legend.

  • @pushinguproses Aww man, I explained it first haha

  • *hugs* Roses, you're probably one of the best people on the internet. Keep up the LPs and sharing the joys of good games. ^_^

  • awwwwwwwwww, that beer tongue drinking lizard thingy was cute. Make Friends!!

  • Always heard good stuff about this game, never bothered to check it out myself though. It's gonna be interesting to see where this is going :)

Never would've figured out those riddles at the start myself though. Damn.

  • I think that amoeba is the Mandelbrot Set.

  • New LP yay!

  • I don't know if anyone's said it, but "green" in this context, means new, so "young" does make sense.

  • Bleh, idve gtten stuck on this part and prolly never come back :/

  • Bit of a slow start, but I'm still eagerly awaiting the next.

Can I ask what you use to capture your footage?

I've been thinking of doing a Lets Play for a while now, and tried out Fraps, but a 5 minute section of footage is around the 4.7GB mark. :/

  • @FizzyWM Oh yeah, it's agonizingly slow in the beginning. I was tempted to talk more about the settings and characters, but it would have lasted way too long.

I use dosbox to capture, it's by far the best quality screen capture I've used without having to pay for something pricey. It captures both sound and the game.

  • @pushinguproses Ah, I doubt dosbox would help me. I'm trying to do a Lets Play of American McGees Alice. A nice and twisted version of Alice in Wonderland. Oh well. I'll see if I can find something to help me. Thank you anyway, and keep up the good work!

  • The last riddle could make sense, if you really wanted to stretch it. Thumping away on a snare drum fast enough is a drumroll, so maybe.

Although, it really seems like the answer should have been Stryper(strike + ore), or something similar.

  • When the extra-terrestrial intelligences started conversing over the fate of our universe I started asking what kind of saloon this was.

  • The trick is to remember that everything is a pun. Not always good ones, but still. Also, reading the all the books helps a ton.

  • @Nifar26 I'm aware. :P Considering I state this is my favorite game ever, I'm pretty familiar with the humor. I still find some puns going over my head though. Too many puns to keep track of!

  • I've always been a fan of adventure games, though I've never heard of this game before. I looked it up and saw where it came out in '97. Nonetheless, It looks interesting! ^^

  • Arrows mith... myth... legend. It's terrible but that's what it's trying to get at.

  • green = inexperienced, as in a greenhorn. Probably also comes from a young tree.

  • I cant wait for the next one! I love your lets plays

  • We <3 you Roses, it doesn't matter that it's a solo LP :)

I think Torin's Passage lets you continue where you left off if you get killed, perhaps the only Sierra game that does?

  • The voice of Parabolus reminds me of someone, but I can't quite put my finger on who D:

  • @LetTheNapalmRain Parabolus might be voiced by Josh Mandel, he had a huge huge role in this game as the designer and writer.

  • @pushinguproses Mandel did do a few voices for the game, but I don't think he was Parabolous. It's fun to keep an ear open for good ol' King Graham making a cameo appearance!
