Today was the funeral of my best friend for 29 years. She died barely 50 years old from breast cancer. I wonder 'why' because she was the best to all. Tonight, I somehow find comfort listening to Ofra yet again...now my friend can know Ofra in heaven..that is a joy. Thanks Ofra for greeting my friend in heaven and singing to her a new joy song of worship before The Almighty.
I am always just so blessed to come watch Ofra on this video. I have her cd's now, but there is so much missed when one does not view her very visible, very alive, contagious spirit as she sings and moves around with JOY, using her most incredible gift of music from G-d ....thank you, thank you yet more and more every time I am so blessed to watch this video. She reminds me a little of Celine Dion. Similar voice. She had the sort of voice that doesn't grind on the ears, always a pleasure to listen to. Tragic that she passed so early in life.
For me she sounds much like Sarah Brightman's pop tone. But there are some things Ofra Haza did with her voice that neither Sarah nor Celine can begin to replicate. Sounds native to her home.
Sometimes I feel like pop singers today try to replicate her sound with autotune and other studio trickery. Still they don't sound like her.
I don't know anybody who has heard her voice and doesn't love it.
Unfortunately, you'd be surprised. Both my dad and grandma feel she has too much vibrato. However, they can think whatever they want, I'll just keep on blasting Ofra's music as loud as possible when they're not around. :D

She reminds me a little of Celine Dion. Similar voice. She had the sort of voice that doesn't grind on the ears, always a pleasure to listen to. Tragic that she passed so early in life.

For me she sounds much like Sarah Brightman's pop tone. But there are some things Ofra Haza did with her voice that neither Sarah nor Celine can begin to replicate. Sounds native to her home.
Sometimes I feel like pop singers today try to replicate her sound with autotune and other studio trickery. Still they don't sound like her.
I don't know anybody who has heard her voice and doesn't love it.

Unfortunately, you'd be surprised. Both my dad and grandma feel she has too much vibrato. However, they can think whatever they want, I'll just keep on blasting Ofra's music as loud as possible when they're not around. :D

With all the wonderful Ofra postings I have seen, she seems to have always had such a cute little "bounce" of her own in her dancing with the 'beat' of her music...just glad to see how wonderful G-d made her so special, so unique...so "OFRA"!!! Blessings to all.

ok, arabs are indeed beautyful people, as are people from all countries and ethnicities..
I am a mix of GREEK dad and Norwegian mother, but there is a lot of other "blood" in my family too..In the end we are ALL children of the same earth and we need black to define white, we need pain to know pleasure..Don`t hate a nation for the mistakes of a few of them..Things are not black and white there is a rainbow inbetween..Open your eyes see ALL the colours ;-)

This is a wonderful song from a wonderful Sephardic woman. Her passing away is very suspicious. I heard she could have been the next Prime Minister of Israel because the majority loved her. If someone human took her life, accursed be forever!

I 'wonder' also about so many things that have happened in my life. I really wonder "why" I keep playing this song over and over, as though it is glued to my inner soul. I wonder if G-d is sending me a message thru this beautiful music, beautiful spirit, and heavenly Hebrew language that I do not know, but love to listen to it over and over and over. Thanks for your note. I have recently learned that there is no word in the Hebrew language for 'coincedence'...something that 'just happens'. I must agree with you that nothing happens without a reason. I would love to live in Israel, but until the Messiah returns, I will have to be patient...and pray for all in beloved Israel. Ofra is a very 'impacting' beautiful soul. I did not even know about her until last week. I play her music over and over ...it seems to have captivated me for some reason...and I can hardly believe she is no longer with us...it is one of those hard things one must leave in the wisdom of G-d. But how thankful I am we have the ability to listen to her music.....and love her always!!!

I have only come across Ofra the last two days. Her music has captivated me. I can't really understand how her voice captures my very soul...but it does. I feel as though I have known this beautiful soul...it is so very sad she is no longer singing to so many anymore on this side of the earth...may she be singing praises to G-d with the angels. It may have first been detected in gay individuals...but they did not 'choose' to get the disease. My comment was in reference to someone saying Freddie Mercury died on his own will because he was gay and gotten AIDS...I'm pretty sure he wouldnt have chosen that.

This Ofra CD reminds me of being younger before 2001, learning to drive in my dads new car. It was so nice and hi-tech compared to our last one and he had a job over seas where he got the cd. It was such an optimistic time. GOOD MEMORIES thank you Ofra!
