I am black but not african american. I would like to say that the reason I believe people hate on oprah is because she got herself out of the mess and distanced herself from the poverty and messed up life style she had before. Other blacks that are still living in poor neighbourhoods felt like she abandoned them because she never looked back.I think people should stop complaining and start making their own hustle!!!!!!! 'Don't depend on others to help you get out poverty.

I don't hate Oprah but I can understand why many may not really favor her. Look at her show topics it's very obvious that she sees no value in our Black men, "school for girls in Africa" (for girls not boys...why?), her funding of Tyler Perry's movie and Precious (any positive roles in those movies)? When was the last time she has had a positive Black man on her show? When you watch previews or view show listings, does she ever show Black men loving Black women? No.

I don't think blacks really know much about oprah and how much she has done for the black community, in the u.s. and abroad because she doesn't broadcast it shamelessly.
