Skating is good, but whats up with the lame ass faggity wack ass music, totally geeked out shit music.Skaters in the early 90's actually liked this shit music, but I met Carrol before back then, him and his brother Greg,Mikes got skillz on the board though.
i dont know if this guy edited this song into this footage, but the song is what deinitely keeps me commin back. Mike Carrol became my new favorite skater just from watching his Epicly Later'd episode (which I definitely recomment checking out) and I'm not saying he isnt a great skater at all I'm sayin the catchy tune makes this video a classic
@000BatFuck000 I saw 2 old bald ladies in JFK about a year ago, twins, but completely bald, had earrings all over there faces, sounded just like them, past right by me, they were sounding like little kids yapping to each other. They looked like them also, but with no hair now, just wondering if that could have been them.
oh man..'manny around the emb island to shove it'..amigos, I used to skate emb near daily from 91 to say 93'..skated with karl and little lee, 'shamil white who was on world industries'...and that's some shit..mike Carrol and henry were the kings of it back then. ..sometimes old school bad asses like tommy G and Jim Theibaud would show up..that place was the shit!
@Arto527 yeah sure dumbass! Maybe if you did your homework you would realize that Carroll , for his age back then ,pretty much owned EMB . He was like 15 or 16 in that video.Boards weighed like two pounds more , were two inches wider, and were big boxy things, making flip tricks super difficult. This was also right before skateboarding died. Unlike today, where every kook with a volcom shirt "skates",when it died, like 95% of the people who did it quit . Carroll is fucking legend.
i could of done this back then and get sponsored so easy which i cant i was born in 95 and now everybody skates so hard to get sponsored .anybody agreee
I made my pilgramage to EMB bout 6 years ago. I saw most of the setting is still there. What happened to the place? I felt bad I never got to see people skating there. I remember driving by bout 10 years ago tho, on a trip for work and that was before I knew where it was. All I know is we were driving down the street at night and I heard skateboards and looked up and there it was, and we couldnt stop. a few years later on a return trip, gone!
thanks for the reply, even though I already knew about that trick. I think there's a DVD quality version available somewhere, because I'm pretty positive this is a promotional montage that came on a free DVD included as a bonus with lakai carolls, but I could be mistaken
Are you kidding, even back then he already oozed style and def. deserved the hype he got, about the low shoves well they were the trend back then, easy trick maybe but doing them that buttery and magical can't be matched... you don't need hard tricks and bangers to make a good skate video, this is my fav vid ever, best style, smooth street lines, and wtf even technically it's sick, late 3 shove, sw back board to front nose, 20 years ago. I would have killed to skate the embarcadero back then
mike was doing this back in the early 90's; after you learn to ollie maybe you will be able to low pop shuv it. or you can just hang out with your buddies and film yourself playing snowboard video games. mike carrol is a pioneer in skateboarding.
Think you got the dates wrong man, Mike Carroll 93-94' more likely I'd guess. That track is Souls of Mischief-Cab Fare, it didn't even drop till' 93 pretty sure. That board is dual nose/tail, 90-91' boards had pretty much no nose, lol. They weren't designed for tech street skating as much, switch-stance ect..
I might be wrong but I started skating in 91 or so ,....this smells 93ish by the clothes too. Anyway thanks for the up's, haven't seen this vid in years, peace.
i have this on DVD my brother got the limited edition mike carroll shoes with all his old pictures and stuff on em pretty sweet but yeah thanks for puttin this up
@samuel49100 oh fuck no. jake rosenberg (jerk from palo alto..i was good friends with paul zuanich) did'nt put this up..and as far as that goes, I've complained to him many times about puttin up sick ass palo alto footage from the 'ground effect' videos and demos in general of say 'paul zuanich, zozi bernat, arron curry, dave rosenberg 'not related', nick the hippie, you name it'...PA had a huge scene which rosenberg sold out as he got hired by the big boys.
Yeah I never replyed back to you but I checked out the wiki article, they love SF basicly and they were everything the same etc.Theyve done commercials and other shit too.Yeah ha.Thanks anyway and all that.
