I have seen on the original dvd the interviews of the actors in the movie and the making of that musical

They were all singing by themselves including johnny depp, only that last part in the Pirelli's song when he sings in a very high tone was sang by someone else

Renee's facial expressions were absolutely entertaining. 0:33 and 2:10 make her look like such a doll! And Mary Sunshine flying the hell around - I can't believe it took me so long to realize how funny that was.

Aside from that, 3:00 is fantastic puppet dancing. The choreography got the image through perfectly.

I just saw the musical, and it was good, but this movie was better. The sets, the casting, the costumes, and the choreography. Wow. I think that was the first time I have ever said a movie of a musical was better than the actual musical. but this movie was really well made.
