Don't forget iraqveteran888 operates a pawn/gun shop he was probably speaking out to mostly shop owners who wanted to display guns. Thanks great review
though I must admit, Eric.. if I decided to purchase a rifle off a wall at a shop, and when they pulled it down it had a matching rack, i'd most likey say 'how much is the rack?" and end up paying the rediculous price for it. It has an awesome novelty feel to it.
Locks only keep honest people out? Honest people don't need locks to not steal. I hate to nitpick, but that's just .... aww never mind, lol. I guess people who won't go to much trouble to rip you are the new honest ... why can't I stop? Because I hate erroneous cliches.
I gotz me an idea? How about an orange doodad that fits on the end so thieves think it's a toy? Maybe the new honest people could just be the stupid ones too along with the lazy ones? Stupid & Lazy = honest?
Wouldn't one of those revolving racks be nicer? Not only would it be a one-stop-shop, for multiple firearms, but it would allow someone to use a single lock in all of the actions. All you would have to do is thread a wire lock in all of the actions in one go. Just my thoughts, as a cookie cutter on the wall, doesn't conform with my idea of pretty.
i dont think that way!!! it just all these people are saying it dont keep robbers from stealing it!!well like he said its for looks an its pretty cool to have it hanging on the wall
Honestly these things look cool, but I highly disagree on the "resonably priced, especially for what it is, a display rack. I'd definately buy a few of these if they were more like $30 or even $40, but $90!? Most of us guys who have tools and a bit of ingenuity can make something similar to this, just as strong if not stronger, for about $20 and some spare crud laying around the house. As always though appreciate the vids, Eric!
you guys sit here an say that wont keep my gun from getting stolen!! but on the flip side a real thief will get into any safe on the market all it takes is a stethoscope to get into any safe, any of you have!!
@kingofstl841 Locks only keep honest people out. Period. Everybody makes a big deal about the door of a gun safe being thick and sturdy or whatever, but a real thief will simple cut through the side which isn't thick at all.
@Iraqveteran8888 You are absolutely correct. If a thief wants it bad enough he'll get it. The best we can hope for is to make it so time consuming he will go on to the next target. Or be there long enough for you to catch him an blow his nuts off.
@Iraqveteran8888 I live in Canada, and over here, the reason we're forced to lock our guns (trigger lock and/or in a safe) is to keep the owners of the guns from accessing it quickly (when someone pisses you off or breaks into your house... sigh...) Never mind trying to keep a thief out.
@lucserre Oil bottle & cloth - beside the desired boom stick. "I woke up early one morning and got to work on my collection, an 'lo and behold, a beligerent fellow was within my abode..." Furthermore, you are only required to have non-restricted firearms secured by one lock. Locking your house door covers that restriction for storing firearms. Only restricted ask for trigger lock & locked storage container; be it a safe, or a room.
@kingofstl841 well if you think about it why is a thief that good breaking into homes looking for rifles when he can be stealing more important things?
@FirearmsTechnician a crackhead on heroin? thats creative, whats next a pothead on crystal meth. its meant to display a firearm, not secure it from burglary.
Another way to prevent screw removal would be to drill out the head to make it so the phillips bit has nothing to grab, but then again, it'd be almost impossible for you to take it off without drilling through the head of the screw to remove it, the twisting out the stub that it left with Vice Grips.
@VirgilHawkins1 You could always use anti-vandalism "security screws" .
Co.'s like Granger tools sell them and they aren't that expensive , they require a specialized screwdriver bit to remove but can be removed unlike a worn out screw.
Using any other tool on that type of screw will not turn it and would just waste someone's time.
I agree about locks keeping honest people out, but that thing would allow any sites or scopes etc to be taken off. Looks like you could take the upper if you had something to start the pins out. Mine slide to the right side. I wouldn't trust it. Maybe to be displayed or keep kids from going postal in the neighborhood. lol Sorry just my $.02. Great vid, and sorry didn't mean to poop in your O's...
Interesting video. I did not know about these. One thing about those locks; generally that type of lock, just like trigger locks, are not for protection against theft. They are to keep children from playing with and/or firing the firearm. If you want protection against theft you need a gun safe. When I want to enjoy looking at my firearms I take them out of the safe and put them on my homemade gun racks. What you have there would be safer than mine regarding children.
it's a pretty good idea I think and anyways if a crackhead tries to get it looks like he screw up the gun trying to get it off the wall and since most crackheads only rip stuff like that off for trade on drugs theyll get a lot less for it
@FirearmsTechnician I am not suggesting in any way that this medium be someone's sole security for locking up their firearms. This medium is for when you want to display your firearms securely.
@DTesch357 I'm sorry, I couldn't tell. By your statements you sounded like a child. Your opinion IS NOT a fact. But still for all i know you are a liar also. So...Go back to COD. Not saying i don't enjoy a bit of cod. But leave the real guns to the grownups.

If you don't want people to steal your guns, hide them well or keep them in a very hard to crack safe.
This is just a way to display your weapons.
