Harrogate Coach Travel / Connexionbuses use Striders on their X70 Between Wetherby and Harrogate. These were good buses as they were chuckable unlike what's replaced them.

they could fly once on a boston spa school bus im told the b 28 a strider was used because the usual volvo olympian royale had broken down and on the m1 motorway it flew at the speed of many antelopes

cardiff bus did have them and volia has some where i am and newport bus haves them.

yuk, volvo b10b's are so characterless, if you want top preserve one just put a shoebox in calderline livery, boring as the geminis and eclipses

The Halifax ones with the Volvo engine used to give travel sickeness when I was little, I love them now though, they are a great looking bus. Do First pay the scrapman or does the scarp man pay First.

I can't believe these buses are going! Just the other day I was on the Nunnery Lane bus (see 2:22) because my car had broken down, but I remember catching these Striders since I was in my late teens! I remember these buses phasing out the good old double-deck Leyland Fleetlines which used to run the same services!

Why don't they sell these great busses to countries like Cuba where they can drive for over 20 years? Why the scrapyard the dont deserve that. Great tribute anyway! 5*

They definitely don't deserve it. They still seem in good nick and stand up to wear and tear a lot better than the characterless eclipses that have replaced them. In 15 years of using the striders, I've never had one fail to get me despite really hot days, heavy rain causing floods, or snow bringing buses to a halt! 60795 always used to be a favourite for turning up in times of disruption! They're the only reason I still use the bus these days with how much it costs!

Great video, and fantastic picture of 60791 at 1:54 ! I think they look so elegant, and rarely travel with arriva now they've withdrawn the lances. Will the First Halifax ones be going so soon? I know 60771/72/73/74/77/78/79/82/89/­93/94 have been withdrawn (IIRC) but there's still a few about! One less reason to use the bus once they're gone :(
