I'm in a trance watching this...love alive....nancy playing the mandolyn. I still have my music books from dreamboat annie, dog and butterfly and magazine...I swear my eyes are bulging watching this!! Thanks for posting this, you made my day!!!
I think Nancy's talent was over looked a bit, especially in the early years because she seemed to work more subtly and in the shadow of Ann, and add to that the the work of Roger Fisher on mostly lead guitar... But, when you stop and watch Nancy play, you see a real talent at work!
@PeopleSmoks Yeah, that"s sounds right,I watch her giving it all @ Cali jam on acoustic, have to wonder how much was coming through in the mix at this show?
@ledzeprebecca can't really make it out, but i bet your takamine guitar dealer would know. keep in mind nancy's guitar is specially custom made for her, but the takamine's do play very nicely, and seem well made. GET A SOLID TOP acoustic, whatever you do!
@ledzeprebecca You won't be able to find that model Takamine in any store, at any price. That model was made in the 1970's or early 80's and is one of the first guitars that Nancy played. Possible the 1st guitar she owned and still has. Takamine made great guitars during the 1970's-80's and after that they went to crap. If the sisters ever get to NJ, I'll ask Nancy if that guitar is the 1st one she owned/played. Take a look at the wear on it. This is from her video, I have it.
Yeah me too, this is a fun vid if you want to spend a little time with Nance,it was given to me by Bob B,a friend of Nance and Heart from the early formation years here in Vancouver.Bob is such an amazing player,I see why he and Roger are friends to this day!
i'm over the moon in love.. sexiest woman EVER!!

It's tuned to a G-D-A-E ? That's exactly "backwards" from the lowest strings on a guitar !
So if I played it "left-handed" it would be ....well...heheh it would ! ;-)
I had no idea.

Well I still believe that the Wilsons nail it down better than anybody else. They live off the melody.

This is so cool. I love listening to Nancy play mandolin, it's got a cool sound. And I think she could totally sing Love Alive if she wanted to. :)
