Even the accent is even different from one to another, when pronouncing the English lyrics.

Well you can´t compare these both singers!

The are both great in their own way, but totally different! Cordeiros sang this song with a very deep voice, Nomi sang with a very high voice.

As far as I'm concerned: I think Nomi was the best in the past and will be still be the best in the future! :D

There's no question this song has to be one of the hardest of all to sing, and this guy pretty much nails it. Yes, I also like Nomi's versions the best, but this was a sucessful tribute. It's nice to see Nomi being acnowledged this way in 2008, also. That's what's important.

Comparisons are this pesky habit of people into music of never evaluating the performance on its own, often in detriment of the person that pays the tribute. This as a tribute, not a tentative of replacing anyone. Had he thought he could do better, he wouldn't have this gigantic image of Klaus Nomi in the background. clearly an influence. This goes well beyond this petty habit of "I can do better", which distinguishes real musicians from music school kids.

Mr. Nomi's original puts tears to my eyes, in how beautiful and complex he is able to express his feelings into this song. His physical presence adds to it 10fold and as moved as I am by this performance it only makes me morn the loss of this beautiful artist even more. Bien sûr ayant grandi avec Klaus Nomi, je n'y retrouve pas toujours cette sensibilité qui nous glaçait chaque fois qu'il reprenait cet air de Purcell, mais Edson Cordeiro est un grand interprète et je suis émue de l'entendre.

I simply dare to say: if this is a tribute, it doesn´t mean a cover, an imitation. I can´t see IN WHAT Klaus Nomi (from who I heard 3 versions, here) was DEEPER or genius. Have you tried to see another performances of Edson Cordeiro? mainly the old performances, he is amazing, and reach very hight notes,

When he was younger in the 90's he could get the top hight notes, and perfect.

In my opinion he has better voice and technic then Klaus Nomi.
