Sorry to burst your bubbles guys its 100% true Edwin wanted to write, they said he could on blue green orange Edwin not brian recorded all the original cuts to blue green orange..he wanted Alive on that album they said no..as you can see Alive doesnt fit IME`s style of music!!
Too bad the singer developed fat-head-ego-cunt syndrome.
It WAS a PERFECT BAND.
PERFECT.

Actually all that fat ego headed singer wanted...was to be able to write some songs for the albums...The denied him that and as you see he had tons of hits waiting to be published!! Edwin Ghazelle greatest canadian singer of his time!

Wooooaaaaaahhhhhhh... this song sucks! I guess it's a reminder not to get too nostaligic about the 90's- I definitely don't miss the bland rock music that proliferated through that decade.
@analhemorrhage this is the worst song on the album, not to mention what the fuck are you doing on this page anyway? I checked out that garbage techno on your page and it made me more suicidal than STOMP does. Lay of the crystal meth and E cocktails you chump!
"And if you catch me on a good day, my mind is like the country--green, wide open, a breath of Zen that's nice on the eyes, lonely, without a care..."
that is one of my all-time fave lyrics. i'm having a nostalgia trip revisit of songs i discovered and loved when living in vancouver for a year in 97. a good friend made me a compilation of some great canadian stuff but i never thought to look them up on youtube before now, not sure why. also been listening to naveed by our lady peace and both of these songs bring back such great memories.!
@loopster100 HAHAHA I saw this band live in Vancouver in 97!! Was really something special in the lyrics and music, I listened to their album over and over.
I dont even know how you can hate IME. I hate coldplay, but thats cuz I love metal, and colplay is too slow and boring. IME is slammin', as musical as metal, but with more style. For the record, rap is the worst...
I want Edwin to sing for this band..... youtube "omerta" or "joey ariemma" he might be too old but they would let him in antways and the future is wide open for these kids...... I miss IME
Stop talking bullshit, Quicksilver.. was by far the greatest of all albums they made. If it was a commercial failure it wasn´t albums or band´s fault but the label itselt, not letting it being well promoted. Time will tell how good that album was. Of course not for catchy easy-listening shitty songs followers.
it's funny that you should say that because Quicksilver is actually what got me into IME, and I used to think it was the best album ever. As years went on though I started to appreciate their earlier stuff the most, especially Dig. TQMD's still pretty good, but it gets a bit cheesy after a while I think
Unfortunately.. IME wont be coming back any time soon.
However..
Edwin is working with Jeff Burrows (former drummer for The Tea Party), Mike Turner (former guitarist for Our Lady Peace) and Amir Epstein (bassist from Zygote) on a band called Crask Karma. They're coming out with an album soonish. Should be sweet.. everything all the other bands wanted to be but couldn't be.
Edwin + IME had great chemistry, Dig & S&F were awesome albums, Brian is a great singer too with a very unique voice but he didn't have the chemistry Edwin did to keep up the success although B/G/O was pretty damn good as well then Quicksilver was a sleeper with just 1 good song.
I miss IME, seen them 3 times live (2 with Edwin, 1 with Brian).
Well Stuart and Jeff from the Tea Party have a new band formed. It's called The Art Decay. These are some of the best musicians in the rock world and these 2 guys will not disappoint. Especially since they have a grudge with Jeff Martin and want to one up him. If this is true, then Edwin will be the singer, and the ex Our Lady Peace guitarist will be doing the 6 string. Should be good. Edwin will provide the fame, and Stuart and Jeff Burrows will provide the talent.
What did I say that was harsh? Only thing I can think of is that I stated that Edwin will provide the fame. What I meant was that he was very popular, is a great rock singer, and should provide some recognition for the rest of the band. It is however Stuart and Jeff of The Tea Party that formed the band. They sought out a guitarist and singer.
I wonder how he'll sound with the middle eastern stylings of Stuart. Should be some good stuff.
When I read "Edwin will provide the fame, while Stuart and Jeff provide the talent" I thought you were implying that Edwin wasn't talented. I guess it was just a misunderstanding though. Thanks for the info
No Prob. Edwin is a great singer. He sang as a guest with the Tea Party a few times. I thought Todd Kerns was going to be singing for The Art Decay but this news of Edwin brings a twist.
Art Decay is Jeff Burrows and Stuart mostly having fun. Stuart has been making Prince of Persia soundtrack's etc. Edwin's new band is Edwin, Jeff Burrows(drums), Mike Turner(lead guitar) and Amir Epstein(bass). They have not announced their band name yet. Last i heard they were recording and doing photo shoots.
Correction. It seems Jeff Burrows and Stuart Chatwood are The Art Decay and it is their main thing. This thing with Edwin is an independant thing Jeff Burrows is doing. He's recorded with a few lineups as an independant drummer. But his work with Stuart Chatwood is his main thing in the background.
i actually didn't say Jeff's working with Edwin was their main project. I knew the Edwin thing was a side project. Edwin's main focus has been his solo music. As far as i've been told though Jeff and Stu haven't planned on putting an album out any time soon. I really do hope they eventually do add a vocalist to Art Decay and release an album. I'm a huge Stuart fan.
Amir is definately the bass player for the band. It would be amazing if Stuart would contribute keyboards but he hasn't been announced as a member of the project.
At first I thought Todd Kerns might do Vocals/Guitar for The Art Decay. But then a year passed and now this Edwin thing emerges. Looks like the Edwin CD is set for release. He's got one hell of a band with him that's for sure. A super group.
Best band ever. Our Lady Peace, I Mother Earth, The Tea Party, Blind Melon and Treble Charger. Pisses me off that I haven't seen any of them in forever.
Edwin's ego and relationships got the worst of him and he left the band which marked it's decline. Now he's working in a downtown Toronto bar as a bartender. What a way to go.
Edwin left the band because of the Tanna Bros egos. They refused to let him have any artistic input. When he's not touring with his solo band or working on his band with Jeff Burrows, Mike Turner and Amir Epstien he bartends @ Tattoo.
It is sad to see the banner below when the Edge TV was stopped, MuchLoud is ok, but Edge seemed better. 102.1 Edge is the best. I think Edwin was made for IME
too bad they wanted to conform to radio friendly vibes to make some money for their label but it's just so much of a departure to what made this band unique the first go around with 'DiG' it's a shame. Apparently most people thought the singer didn't stand out enough like eddie vedder or alice in chain's singer to make this band worth getting into. Those people that just went with the 'current' are as dead as door nails now, they didn't know what they had with I Mother Earth. it's a shame!
Is that a serious statement? Fuck off, Edwin's solo effort was absolutely that gayest shit I've ever heard, seriously, terrible. Quicksilver meat dreams and Red blue green are different but far from bad. Take another listen.
Are people basically saying that Edwin had no say in their sound or creative direction? cuz I hear he just had to sing to what they tell him too. The person singing imo SHOULD have big say in the band, afterall when people think of most bands they think of the dam singer first!
