@jerico641 A memorable bit in Ed Wood, although both Lugosi and Karloff respected each other as professionals too much for that kind of behavior in real life.
you would think with BELA LUGOSI'S performance here and the music you were watching a top-flight movie LUGOSI always gave it his all..i always enjoy his movies and i have most of them and i watch them quite frequently..
Landu did his version of this speech. Its good but doesn't come close to Bela's performance here. I think this speech is the most honest symbol of Bela's life and career. Heights of glory, depths of anonymity ("I have no home") and the lunacy of his cartoonish type-cast("atomic superhumans").
thats what i love about bela lugosi, no matter how silly the lines he was given, he always said them in a way that made them seem like they were the most important lines ever written. He always sounded like he really believed this stuff, thats the mark of a great actor.
Bela Lugosi owned every movie he did because he was Bela Lugosi!

Lugosi was reduced to starring in shit but he never treated it like shit and that is why he was a brilliant actor. He loved his craft

I think if Ed Wood did nothings else. He did gave Bela Lugosi the sense that he wasn't a has-been and gave him some happiness before he died.

Ever since I saw Dracula as a kid, I've been a Bela Lugosi fan. In the right role, he was a great actor.

This has to be where the actor playing Bonasera got his phrasing and inspiration. It's amazingly similar.
