This was a brilliant story that gave (especially) Sharon Wyatt as Tiffany a chance to shine -- she was nominated for an Emmy in 1993 as a result.

In October 1992, Tiffany learns that her sister Cheryl has been in a car accident in Arizona and is comatose. Cheryl had left Port Charles in early 1991, taking her one-and-a-half year old son Lucas with her. After his birth, Lucas had been adopted (illegally) by Bobbie and Tony; Cheryl believed the baby had died.

When Cheryl learned the truth, she took Lucas back.

After Cheryl's death, Tiffany planned to raise her nephew, but Cheryl expressed in her will that Bobbie and Tony should raise Lucas. This led to a nasty custody battle between Tiff and Bobbie that nearly broke up both of their marriages. In the end, Tiff handed Lucas over to Bobbie.
